ancient Gripstand mixing bowl (Britannia)
I've used this thing for many decades, but have just retired it – the inside is now too cracked and discoloured for my taste. But the outside still looks nice, so I wonder if anyone can use it just for decorative purposes? Or as a planter, or a fruit bowl, or whatever?

12 pairs of “queen size” stockings (Britannia)
Expired
In the depths of my wardrobe, I discovered a couple of hangers loaded with this long-forgotten collection of nylon stockings. I haven’t worn skirts since I stopped having an office job (also stopped having a waist). These “queen size” items would fit a 14-16 lady. I’m now much too fat to fit into them, being more like a 22! I’ve laundered them all, and checked for rips or tears – they’re in pretty good shape. Various colours, as shown.

Request:
portable CO detector, on loan (Britannia)
These things are quite expensive to buy, and I need it only briefly – to find out if carbon monoxide is actually leaking into my car, as my mechanic warns might happen. My ancient (1994) vehicle needs major muffler repair, but the parts are no longer available. I'm continuing to drive it, because can't afford to replace it ... would like to know just how much I need to worry, though! If you own such a thing, I'd really appreciate your help. You needn't even part company with it – just turn it on, and come for a short test drive in my (possibly dangerous) old beater. Now there's an unbeatable offer! (Note: apparently household detectors aren't sensitive enough for this kind of task – it has to be one rated for vehicles.) Thanks, A.

three "size large" running bras (Britannia)
Gifted
These things have been stuffed in a box for years, and it's time to accept that my running days are long over – I have arthritis in my knees, and am carrying at least 60 extra pounds! Two of the bras – the blue ones – are fairly lightweight; the pink one, from the Running Room, is more heavy duty. (I always wore them over a regular bra, so they never actually touched my sweaty flesh – also, I laundered them when I took them out of storage.)

VPX flashlight, no battery (Britannia)
This was originally part of a Black & Decker five-piece set: flashlight, screw gun, two batteries, and a charger. But then one of the batteries died (can't be recharged); and I have many other flashlights ... so this has been sitting around unused for years. (It still works fine, if I plug in the surviving screw-gun battery.) Before chucking it, I thought I'd check to see if anyone here can use it. (You can get a separate VPX battery, I think – but they're rather expensive.)

brown ladies' walking shoes (Britannia)
I snagged these comfy and stylish shoes from here, a while back ... then realized, to my chagrin, that they don't actually fit me. My feet are 9.5, and fairly narrow. Even with thick socks and a warm insole, there's still a good inch of space between my big toe, and the front of the shoe. These shoes need a lady with a longer foot than mine – maybe a 10, or even 10.5 (they're a European size 42.)

If this pic looks familiar, it's because I snagged these comfy and stylish shoes from here, just a few weeks ago ... then realized, to my chagrin, that they don't actually fit me. My feet are 9.5, and fairly narrow – and I wanted a little extra space, to wear thick socks, and to use a warm insole. But even with those things in place, there's still a good inch between my big toe, and the front of the shoe. These babies need a lady with a longer foot than mine – maybe a 10, or even 10.5. (As I recall, they're European size 42.)

functional barbecue (Britannia)
I actually got this item from here, earlier in the summer – but ran into a problem: my landlord refused to allow me to keep it on my deck, for some silly reason. I live on the second floor of a duplex, and have bad knees – so running up and down stairs to cook a steak isn't an option for me! So with regret, I'm passing this on to someone who hopefully can use it (even though bbq season is almost over now). The starter doesn't work (they never do), so you need a wee flamethrower; and I removed all the grills and grids for cleaning ... then never got around to it. Also, no propane tank. Other than that, perfectly functional!

Poang chair with cushion (Britannia)
Gifted
The cushion on this chair is actually the old one from my deck lounger – it fits just nicely. Several people were interested before, but somehow it's still here! I'm on the second floor of a duplex, so you'd have to carry it down three flights of stairs – it's not heavy, but a bit too unwieldy for me (I have bad knees). Come over for a "trial sit," if you want!

"distressed" small bedside table (Britannia)
Gifted
I rescued this from a neighbour's garbage – it's a nice little piece, though quite dirty and battered! The drawer is a bit wonky, and the handle has come off (it's inside). If anyone has the urge to fix it up, feel free – if not, it can just go back to the curb 😉

cushion-less lounger (Britannia)
Expired
Having acquired a nicer, newer deck lounger via this group (thanks, skateroo!) – I'm now offering my rather battered old one, in case anyone can use it. Despite the makeshift replacement of some of the webbing, it's perfectly sound and comfy. However, you'd have to source your own cushion for it (the original got repurposed).

outdoor cushion (Britannia)
Gifted
Was part of my deck lounger, till I rearranged things; now surplus to requirements. Originally from IKEA's "As Is" section, this was sort of bodged together from leftovers: I stuffed a few unused cushions inside the cover (included, if you want them). Measures about 4 ft long by 1.5 ft wide. Machine washable. Can be left at the front door for pickup, as long as it's not raining.

teeny bottle of eucalyptus oil (Britannia)

Only 15 ml, and I don't even know what to use it for – must have been a gift! The bottle was unopened, until I cracked the lid to see if it was full (it is).

battery charger (Britannia)

I've had this thing for decades, but never use it now. If you're into rechargeables, you can bring it out of retirement. Holds four AA batteries, plugs into a wall socket.

10" Android tablet (Britannia)
Gifted
My four-year-old Huawei mediapad has given up the ghost, after four years of faithful service. The battery says it's fully charged ... then five minutes later, it just shuts down (even if plugged in). If anyone here can use it to restore, or for parts, it's yours. Note: case not included (I'm using it for my replacement tablet). Also, I hope there are no criminals in the TN community! But if you are one: the device has of course been wiped, and factory reset ... so no personal data remains on it.

non-functional microwave (Britannia)
Expired
I've had this old PC model for almost a decade, and it's always worked just fine. Then the other day, it just apparently passed away in its sleep – I came into the kitchen one morning, and it was dead. If anyone knows how to restore such a thing, feel free to have a go!

small table lamp, without a shade (Britannia)
Gifted
This doesn't match my decor (I bought it for my student's room), and then the shade broke. You would have to source your own. It's about 14x" high, and has the (annoying) kind of switch that's on the cord, rather than the socket.

My old print calculator has died of old age, with an almost brand-new roll in it. The paper is 2-1/4" wide, and ... I dunno, about 20 miles long?! ;-)

blue Bernie Mev shoes, 9.5 (Britannia)

I got these from a friend, practically new, and they're really comfortable ... but sadly, just a little bit too big for me! No matter how many insoles I try to stack them with, my heels keep slipping out at the back. Check out the style at .

cheap plastic trays (Britannia)
Gifted
I used these dollar-store trays to go under my big plant pots, in case they leaked water. One actually did – it has rust marks on it – but the others are unmarked. The big ones ("gold" and "silver") are 15" across, and the small one is 11".

various makeup items (Britannia)
Gifted
I've overhauled my makeup case, and realized I haven't actually used these things in years. Two eye shadows (creamy white and pale blue), barely used; two pale beige concealer sticks; two lipsticks, vaguely pink/red; and three coloured eyeliner pencils – blue, purple, and green. I understand one can just swab or dip with alcohol, to disinfect things like this. If you can use any or all, you're welcome!

wooden hutch, for small animal (Britannia)
Expired
I rescued this from my neighbour's garbage – it looks too useful to just throw away! If you know a child with a wee beastie – hamster, gerbil, rescued squirrel, baby rabbit, whatever – this might be handy for them. The hutch stands ca. 30" high, 23" wide, and 16" deep. The clear plastic front opens at the bottom, as shown. There are various shelves, etc., inside. The hinged top has sort of come apart, and would need nailing back together. I think these might be the specs:

leather handbag straps (Britannia)

My purse came with these short extra handles, which I never use (because shoulder straps are best). They're black, 16" long, rather stiff and curved, and have loops at the end for attaching them. Or you could repurpose them for something else entirely!

new bag with corporate logo (Britannia)

My former employer used to spend a lot of money on these ugly branded giveaways ... instead of doing the sensible thing, and providing better wages and benefits! It's about 16", unused, and perfectly useful ... if you don't mind the stupid logo (I hate them).

8-litre stock pot, with no lid (Britannia)
Gifted
A big, sturdy pot, made in Italy from 18/10 stainless steel (the highest grade available). Holds just over 8 quarts; measures 8” high, and 10” wide at the base. The handles have heat protection grips. Missing its own lid, though any 10” lid from another big pot fits just fine. (It used to be a pressure cooker, but I managed to lose the locking top.) This vintage model (by Aeternum) is almost 40 years old. But it’s only rarely been used – as you can see from the photos, it’s almost virgin (even on the bottom).
