Request:
thin plywood or thich cardboard (Britannia)
I'm looking for a slab of some rigid substance that's 62" wide, and 33" tall – to create a padded headboard for my bed. Even a fortified cardboard would do – like this chunk that was used in the packing of my neighbour's new TV. It's perfect, except not big enough ... but if I could find a similar piece, I could put them together. (The plan is to cover the board with foam padding and decorative fabric – both of which I already have). If you can help with some suitable material, please get in touch. Thanks, Antonia

Various unwanted hair things from the depths: dry shampoo, brown spray cover-up for roots, mousse, and pump-action hairspray. Also sunscreen (though this isn't the season for it!), and cuticle remover. Some are unused, others are mostly full.

a few minor kitchen items (Britannia)
Gifted
Clearing out my cabinets, I've found: * a refillable liquid soap container (the top part comes off for easy access) * a small off-white china tray, about 9" long (PROMISED) * a set of "spatula tongs" * (lurking at the front, at the bottom of the pic) a silicone scrubbing/bottle brush * a red silicone pie-crust protector, to fit a standard-size baking dish (PROMISED) (The glass bowl and the wooden board are in the pic for illustration only.)

ironing board + two swiffers (Britannia)
My neighbours left these things behind when they moved out – can anyone use them? The ironing board is a bit screechy (aren't they all), and could use a new pad and cover. The swiffers seem to be in good shape, though one is lacking its pad.

Xmas wrapping paper (Britannia)
I know next Christmas is still a long way off – but maybe you can save these "eco-friendly" roll remnants (by Nota) from the landfill? There's just enough for a few prezzies, when the holiday comes again!

There's not a lot left on these three "eco-friendly" rolls of paper by Nota; but enough for a few prezzies, when Christmas comes again!

crutches for a tall person (Britannia)
These adult crutches would fit anybody from 5'10" to 6'6" tall. Note: the rubber hand-grip thingy has come off, so would need to be replaced – you can get a repair kit from the drugstore.

large pie dish (Britannia)

This handsome item has been languishing unused in my cupboard, because I rarely bake any more. It's a generous size – 10" across, and 2" deep – and in immaculate shape.

house plants (Britannia)
Withdrawn
I've moved around and repotted several plants, and now find I have a few bare spots. Does anyone have any indoor greenery they could spare?! (But no cactuses, thanks – I'm not a spiky person.)

chunk of plywood or similar (Britannia)
I'd like to try creating a padded headboard for my bed, to replace the current metal slats. So I'm looking for a chunk of thin plywood (or some other rigid substance) that's about 62" wide, and 33" tall. The plan is to cover it with foam padding and decorative fabric (both of which I have already). If you can help with a slab of suitable material, please let me know! Thanks, Antonia

I used to keep dried grasses in this, but found a prettier option! It's about 18" high, and has a slight chip on the rim – I just made sure that section was at the back.

Request:
sturdy box lid (Britannia)
Does anyone has a box lid they no longer use? I'd like to create a solid top for this flimsy little table – this lid I have (see pic)would work, except it's just a bit too small. Ideally, I'd like a box lid that's at least a foot square – larger is okay, I can cut it down to size. It doesn't have to be very fancy, either, since I plan to cover it with fabric. Hoping someone can help! Thanks, A.

I already have rather too many lamps, so I'm not likely to ever use this again.

There's nothing wrong with this little book (complete with pen), except that the pages are lined – I prefer blank ones. (Also, corporate logo.)

small red-and-gold wooden box (Britannia)
Withdrawn
I have two of these little boxes, bought from Dollarama – back when they had a whole line of them. Now I want to get a slightly larger version – but they're no longer to be found! This is probably a long shot; but I'm looking for one that's at least seven inches long/wide. (I've tried googling, and these things can be found on Amazon ... but only the small versions.)

little marble pill box (Britannia)
Gifted
I have all the pill containers I need; but this thing is just so attractive, I've kept it around just for decoration. Perhaps someone else can put it to good use? It's about 2" high, and 4" across – small, but heavy.

eco-friendly wax wraps (Britannia)
Gifted
Various sizes of these things ... which I have tried to use in place of clear plastic bags, but which have one large drawback: you can't see what's wrapped up in them! You don't know if the mysterious bundle in your fridge is the remains of a ham, or half a tuna sandwich. (In fact, I haven't actually used these for either purpose – they're mostly virgin.) Also I don't like the smug exhortations to virtue they're printed with.

homemade "plant stand" (Britannia)
Gifted
I created this little wheeled platform so I could move a potted plant to follow the sun. Sadly, the plant was far too large and heavy for the flimsy construction! Thought I'd check if anyone here could use it, before chucking it. Size: about a foot square (my glasses for scale).

IKEA queen duvet cover (Britannia)
Gifted
Following my recent post of a duvet, this is a potential cover for it. It's clean and washed (though not ironed), and is mostly in good shape. I think there are a few small tears in the fabric, on one side ... though when I looked for them just now, I couldn't find them! You can take this independently of the quilt – though I guess my preference is for someone who wants both.

queen duvet (from IKEA) (Britannia)

This Fjällarnika quilt was my adult son's, till I bought him a new one for Christmas. Still has a few stubborn stains, despite *multiple* trips through the washing machine. But its major flaw – the reason it needed replacing, and is now being disposed of – is that for some reason, most of the feather filling has migrated to the quilt edges ... leaving the centre almost flat and empty. I'm not sure how to fix that issue – short of unpicking all the stitches; redistributing the feathers along more equitable lines; and then sewing all the seams back again! But if you can fix it, it's yours.

Ecco ladies shoes, size 10-11 (Britannia)
Gifted
I know it's boot weather right now, not shoe weather ... but perhaps you're going on a winter trip to the Belize jungle, and need some comfy and stylish footwear?! These are excellent shoes, but a tad narrow for my foot. Also, I was confused by the European sizing: my feet are a size (or two) smaller. So they don't work for me; but maybe you can use them? They have really good tread, and are sturdy and well-made.

Pride and Prejudice DVDs (Britannia)
Gifted
Five hours of stellar English television, to while away a cold winter's night! This classic adaptation of Jane Austen's most famous novel has never been bettered, and likely never will – it remains the gold standard for Austen fans. The two-disc box set is accompanied by the lavishly illustrated book “The Making of Pride and Prejudice,” to add to your enjoyment. I originally posted this on KJ, but my ad there got zero traction ... time to abandon my hopes of making a few bucks :-(

silicone cup for massage therapy (Britannia)
Gifted
A physiotherapist used one of these on my arthritic knee, and it seemed to help – so I bought my own version. It came in a pack of two, and this one is too large for that particular spot – I've never used it. (If you want to know how this thing works, just Google it. FYI, the pic showing a whole bunch of them is just for reference – I only have one to give away!)

blue cushion (Britannia)
Gifted
Approx. 20" square, originally from IKEA. Used to be on my deck, until I switched furniture; now it's just hanging around. The cover removes for washing, and it's rather faded from sun and rain – I was thinking of redyeing it, but can't be arsed!

green curtain fabric (Britannia)
Expired
This shiny material is so pretty, I've kept it hanging around for a while ... but I think I have to accept that green just isn't my colour! These fabric lengths are ready to make into a pair of full-length drapes – they're 8 ft long and 50" wide. I was about to start ironing and stitching when I decided ... that some more energetic person can take over the project. This was originally quite an expensive upholstery fabric, but I definitely lack the skills to re-cover a couch – drapes are about my level of expertise. (I'll wait till morning to pick a recipient.)

size 8.5 ladies shoes, need fixing (Britannia)

I've had these things tucked away in a closet for so long, I forgot I had them. They *were* really nice shoes – but I only ever wore them on special occasions (of which there are too few in my life). Eventually, the elastic strips over the top of the foot perished. I kept meaning to try to repair them ... but realized they no longer fit me! Can you offer them a second lease on life?

plug-in timer, unused (Britannia)

I bought this last summer, to plug my bedroom fan into ... but failed to realize it can only handle a two-prong plug (my big fan has three prongs). I can't think of another use for a timer, so it's just sat around gathering dust for many months.

This thing is quite lightweight, and I've replaced it with a sturdier model. Also the zipper on the outer pocket is broken, so I stichted it closed. It's clean and functional, though.
