The tea light candle holders each have a screw in the base which were originally meant to be screwed onto the top of spikes, which have been lost. The candle holders will not sit flat on a hard surface unless the screws are sawed off.

Very comfortable. Chair rocks, swivels, and is height adjustable. The imitation leather material is shedding its outer skin on the rear side and convex area between the seat and seat back. Red color transfers from those areas to skin or clothing. If you sew a slip cover to go over the seat back this problem could be alleviated.
