12x9 carpet, worth cleaning (Stevens Creek/Saratoga Ave, SJ)

I was gifted this pretty and very large rug on Nextdoor, but when I got it home, I realized it needs a better cleaning than just a vacuum, and it’s more of a project than I can deal with right now.

The design isn’t fading or wear, it’s just imitation antiquing. It’s some kind of synthetic, not wool. It looks like one sold at Costco 4 or 5 years ago.

The carpet doesn’t have any weird odor; it looks like it just has a lot of dirt tracked on it. Full disclosure, I didn’t unroll it all the way to inspect it. If you have (or can borrow) a home carpet cleaning machine like a Bissel that sprays and extracts cleaning fluid, I think that would be all it needed. Ammonia is great for that because it cleans so well and evaporates completely leaving no residue or odor.

It has some pulls on the back that look like a cat did it, but I don’t think they are noticeable on the front side.

If you’re not too far, at my discretion, I may be able to even drop it off for you, but if you want to see it before you decide, you should come here instead. I’m near Stevens Creek and Saratoga Ave.
