H. G. Hurrell is a born naturalist. With a deep interest in birds and animals H.G., as he is known, has participated in International Ornithological Congresses in Finland, America and Australia.
A founder member of the Mammal Society, he was the Society's first honorary treasurer for seven years.
His pet seal "Atlanta" became famous for her ability to understand instructions spoken in English, French or Gaelic as described in his book "Atlanta my Seal".
He has acquired accurate information about the life of the pine marten by visiting Wales, the Lake District, Ireland and the Highlands of Scotland.
His unique experience with the pine marten has enabled him to write this story, which is entirely feasible, about a beautiful and fascinating animal.
