OFFERED: I have no idea why I have kept these so long, but I have three of my old German lesson school books (1974/75), complete with pencil margin notes of either the odd translation of a word or phrase, or just a clarification of what was going on in the plot.
Irrungen, Wirrungen, by Theodor Fontane
Und Sagte Kein Einziges Wort, by Heinrich Boll
Tonio Kroger, by Thomas Mann
All are rather worn, from being carried around in a school briefcase for months, and the spine of Tonio Kroger has been repaired with sticky tape.
The pages of the Heinrich Boll book are quite yellowed around the edges.
(I don't THINK I wrote anything rude in them...)
May be of interest to anyone studying German, or who is just a Germanophile!
