I have a quantity of graphite pencils in need of a new home, where they can get worn down and resharpened as intended! Some will have been saved from pocket diaries or address books, and many will be really quite old. Several were mine as a child (1970s) and a few will be even older! A few still have a small eraser on the end, though I cannot guarantee how effective they will be. NOTE: None of these writing utensils is fitted with a spell-checker...

Vintage Quality Street tin (1950s/1960s) - a bit tatty! (Primrose LA1)
Would anyone like to make use of this pretty old Quality Street tin, dating from at least the 1960s, possibly the 1950s? It has seen a lot of use in its time, as a cake tin/biscuit tin, and possibly to store various bits of hardware... There are a lot of marks, scratches, rust spots and discolouration to every part of it, as well as a sizeable dent to one part of the rim, but even so, it still has a certain vintage charm... (Or is that just me?)

Perfect for adapting into winter hanging feeders for garden birds, with the addition of a few drill-holes, bits of string and some solidified suet/fat, or just for keeping small knick-knacks in.

Large Seagrass basket with wooden handles (Primrose LA1)

I have this large seagrass basket if someone can make good use of it? It has a metal wire framework and wooden handles, but the bulk of it is seagrass, and though quite old now it still feels pretty sturdy. The seagrass wrapping around one of the wooden handles has started to unravel a bit, but I am sure it is fixable. It measures 43 cm long x 32 cm wide x 19 cm high (excluding handles).

White glazed plantpot-holder - small chip to rim (Primrose LA1)

I have this attractive glazed white plantpot-holder in need of a new home. It is 14cm in diameter and 11cm tall, with a ribbon-like relief moulding around about three-quarters of it. There are a few small chips around the base, and one on the rim, but these would be barely noticeable when the plantpot-holder is in use.

Portuguese Glazed Flower Pot with Two Saucers (Primrose LA1)

I have this lovely Portuguese Glazed Flower Pot with two Saucers in need of a new home. I think they were bought in the 1980s sometime (possibly 1990s...). The glaze on the inside of the pot (and to a lesser extent the white uppers of the two saucers) appear somewhet "crazed", but I think they should still usable without an inner plastic pot, but it's up to you. The pot is 12cm diameter and 10cm tall. One saucer matches the pot, while the spare saucer matched a similar pot long since broken.

I have these quite old wooden cocktail sticks which I will never use - perhaps you will? The cylindrical pack passes the sniff test, so are "probably" okay for food use. The two squarer containers have clearly been stored somewhere a bit damper, so their contents smell a bit musty, in my opinion. Maybe they could be part of a craft project...?

I have a box of old tiles and part-tiles that may still be of use to someone. There are four intact 4" square pale grey tiles, one 6" square white tile (with a chipped corner), and the rest were once 12" x 8" ridged white tiles but are mostly offcuts about 12" x 4", or smaller.

Plastic kitchen scales - max weight 5kg (Primrose LA1)

I have these well-used white plastic kitchen scales in need of a new home. They weigh goods up to 5kg, which is a LOT! The plastic dish that sits on top has suffered a mishap at some point and looks a bit melted, probably after being absent-mindedly placed on a gas-ring not yet cooled. The dish is still usable with care, but you could always substitute a better one. There is a black knob at the back for recalibrating the scales to zero if using a heavier dish than the one supplied.

25" x 25" cushion (synthetic filling) in handmade cover (Primrose LA1)

I have a 25" x 25" synthetic padding-filled cushion in a handmade patterned cover in need of a new home. Made in the 1980s (I think) by a late aunt of mine, the cover was made from left-over curtain fabric. From a smoke-free, pet-free home, this item has been well-looked after and is in good condition, though the synthetic padding now feels a bit thin and lumpy. There is a full-width zip on the reverse for removing the inner cushion. The cover has recently been washed and ironed. No fire labels.

I seem to have a glut of highlighter pens and this little lot are surplus to requirements. There are three orange, three yellow, two pink, two blue and two green. I have this collection of old propelling pencils in need of using up, and possibly refilling. For those of you who have never encountered one of these before, they are refillable lead pencils containing a very thin piece of graphite, and pressing the top button (occasionally side button) propels the graphite forward as it wears down with use. I have checked that they all still have some usable graphite still in them, though I am not sure how much. Hopefully somebody out there can make use of them...

Glass chopping board with apples design (Primrose LA1)

I have this well-used glass chopping board, in an attractive green apples design, which needs a new home. The green apples look a little blueish these days, probably affected by sunlight over many years. It has seen a lot of regular use over several decades but still has some useful life left. The back-printed pattern has worn very slightly at the edges, you can see light scratch marks in places, but the board still has all four of its rubber anti-slip "feet".

I have this 15" x 15" square feather-filled cushion, in a handmade floral cover with a pansies design, in need of a new home. Made by a late aunt of mine in the 1980s ( I think), the cover is in a polyester-type fabric, with the flower panel being a separate hand-stitched piece. The opening at the back is secured with velcro strips. The cover has been through a wash cycle, but has a couple of small marks that didn't come out. No fire labels.

2 x cushions for garden chairs - cream (Primrose LA1)

I have two cream cushions for garden chairs, in need of a new home. One still has velcro tags for securing it to a chair's upright back props, but on the other these are missing. The cushions do not have fire labels. They belonged to an elderly aunt who chose to snip such things off if they were too visible, though I suspect the cushions were purchased post-1988, when the main regulations came in. These have been used outdoors over the years, so have some light marks through regular summer use. They come from a pet-free and smoke-free home, and have been out through a wash cycle. Still nicely padded, and the covers are stitched on all sides, so the foam inners cannot easily be replaced.

I have two matching hand-painted wooden trays in need of a new home. They are painted dark green with a white daisy pattern, and have the words "Botanic Garden" painted along the long sides. They have seen many years of service at the home of my late aunt, who was a passionate gardener, mostly for eating meals off while sitting in her easy chair. The bases are plywood, and there is noticeable wear to the edges on the underside, though both trays are perfectly solid and serviceable. The larger one measures 44cm x 30cm, and the smaller one 39cm x 27cm.

I have this George/ASDA 650/750w microwave oven in need of a new home. It was bought in 2022 and has been only lightly used since then. It is in excellent condition and works perfectly. It measures 17" wide x 13" deep x 10" high. It has only basic specifications, but has two defrost settings and three cooking power settings, with a manual knob for selecting how many minutes of power to use. It still has its original instruction booklet. Please say why you need it

Wood and canvas director's chair (Primrose LA1)

I have this sturdy wood and canvas director's chair, possibly made in the 1980s, which needs a new home. The frame is robust and good quality and made from what looks like a tropical hardwood. The folding mechanism works fine. The canvas seat and backrest look a bit tired, though are still safely supportive. One corner of the backrest cover has a hole worn through by the backrest as a result of regular use over many years. I have turned the cover around to make the hole less obvious when in use. The marks to the edges of the seat fabric are discoloration from direct contact with the frame when the chair is opened out, but less noticeable when in open mode than when folded up.

Vintage Tala Stainless Steel Bread Bin - needs repairing (Primrose LA1)

A lovely vintage stainless steel bread bin with a roll-down cover - probably 1970s - in need of repair. While I was giving it a good clean one of the end panels detached from the roll-down cover. If you (or someone you know) have the equipment and skills to spot-weld (or maybe solder?) the end-piece back to the cover it should still have many years of useful life left in it. It has a few small dents here and there, but otherwise it will scrub up well.

Vintage wicker laundry basket - some gaps to its base (Primrose LA1)

A vintage wicker laundry basket, which saw many years of active service at my late aunt's house. No idea how old it is, but possibly 1960s or even earlier...? The inside looks a bit discoloured, but the outside looks very clean. It is approximately 60cm long x 40cm wide. A few pieces of wicker across the base of the basket have broken over time, leaving a number of small gaps, though none is large enough to allow any laundry to drop through.

A mini ironing board for use when ironing sleeves, in a pale blue painted metal fininsh, and with a blue floral patterned cover. Comes with a clip-on iron cord "minder", to keep the cord away from the item being ironed. Both items hardly used, which is why I am happy to give them to someone who may use them more than I ever have!
