Free: Timber Bamboo (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Gifted - I just transplanted these shoots into a container so they don't have much in the way of root yet, but I think I have got them at just the right time to make for an excellent plant. This is a bright green bamboo that, in the right conditions, grown fifteen feet high with stalks two inches in diameter. It is a runner rather than a clumper, but it is very slow growing so keeping it in bounds is fairly easy.

Free: Hardy Landscaping Plant (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Expired - Shrub. grows 3' X 3'? Covered in small, decorative red berries in the fall. Plant has been cut way back in order to facilitate removal, but it will be a big bush this year. I don't know the name of this shrub, but it's very common in landscaping because it's not invasive, it's very hardy, the foliage is year round, leafy but not impenetrable and the berries are abundant, pretty and are innocuous.

Free: Geranium, salmon pink flowers (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Gifted - I think this may be a species geranium, which means it's foliage and flowers (small, salmon pink) are ordinary. But it is very hardy.

Free: Panasonic Flat Screen TV (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Gifted - 31" wide and 24" high, including pedestal. This TV is maybe 20 years old, but it works flawlessly. It's not high definition, but the resolution has always been great by my standards. I'm putting it up for grabs because I hardly ever watch TV and I'd prefer to use the space for something else.

Free: Potting Table (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Gifted - 4' wide, 5' tall, 21" deep. Solid wood. It has been used as a horse medication and supplements management area in a dusty tack room. It's dusty and dirty but in good shape - not rot or decay of any kind. Letting go of this is a sacrifice.

Free: Farce Toilet Brush (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Gifted - I've hesitated posting this because it's political. It was a gift to me by someone who thought I would think it was funny. I don't. But maybe someone else wants it. It's brand new and in the box. I sincerely hope no one on this list takes offense. If so, I will remove the post and throw away the item. But I hate throwing something out that is unused and has a use.

Free: 18" x 30" x 3/4" Pokey Pad (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Gifted - This pad is supposed to help with a sore back. A friend of mine tried it and said it didn't work. I took it because it feels really neat to lie on. But I don't use it. It's very clean and barely used. These are pretty inexpensive. You can get on for $25 online - including shipping. But I never know what someone will want on Trash Nothing so I'm putting it out there in case it's what someone might want. If no one wants it, I will use it as a knee pad for weeding.

Free: Prototype Urban Arrow (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Gifted - This bike is probably ten years old, but it's in very good shape structurally. The owner used it for years, then moved out of the area and left it with his mother who stored it in her yard under a weather proof motorcycle cover. When we got it it was in need of a lot of TLC. We had the battery rebuilt and we repacked all the bearing and replaced the chain. The motor was water damage do it was disassembled and greased and put back together. The tires are not new, but they are in good shape. There is something a little off with the motor. You have to pedal really hard to get the electric assist to kick in and then it stays on when you are pedaling slowly and it should have turned off. But, it does work. Also, there is no way to tell how much charge the battery has (unless you go plug it in to the charger). The newest versions of the Urban Arrow costs $7,000. This bike isn't worth near that much, but if you want to have something that you can use instead of a car a lot of the time, this bike will do the trick. Since I anticipate many requests for this bike, I WILL NOT CHOSE FOR 48 HOURS - NOT UNTIL SUNDAY NIGHT. I will do what I always do, which is put everyones name in a hat and pull one out. Bike must be picked up next week sometime Monday through Friday. It can be ridden away. It is heavy and large so you won't be able to transport it unless you have a truck or trailer.

Free: 8' long bamboo sticks (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Gifted - I'm culling my bamboo and have lot of long "sticks." I will probably end up with as many as two dozen sticks this length or longer. The sticks pictured have all the leaves and branchlets cut off. I can cut it fresh if you want it before it's started to dry.

Free: Light Bulbs (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Gifted - Flood lights - two compact florescent and two LED. Four regular compact florescent bulbs. Please note - I always wait 24 hours before pulling names out of a hat to chose who gets item

Request: 5 Gallon Plastic Water Jug (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Received - Anybody got one or two of these kicking around their house or yard that they want to get rid of?

Free: Office Chair (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Gifted - This is an Ethan Allen, leather covered office chair. It's in really good shape, except that it has no arm rests. The person who gave it to me "torn them off!." The missing arm rests don't affect the physical integrity of the chair in any way and I didn't miss them. The chair just doesn't fit in my tiny work space. Unlike most of my posts where I hold back and don't respond for at least 24 hours, this chair, because of the weather and the fact that I have no place to store it, will be first come first served. Thanks for understanding.

Free: Big Bag of Packing "Peanuts" (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Expired - These "peanuts" are all clean and most of them are of the biodegradable type. I get them from my local health food store. They collect all the packing peanuts from all the packages that get sent to them. Sometimes people come and take them, but as often as not they go in the trash. I've asked them to give them to me if nobody picks them up. I kept the first bag for my own use. This is the second bag. I actually now have several bags.

Free: Wood Planter Box (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Gifted - 5' x 16" x16". This is a wonderful, wooden planter box made by a neighbor of mine. It's used, but still has many good years in it. I nabbed it when he was getting rid of it because it's such a good box, but I've had it for three years and haven't used it so I really have to let it go.

Free: Plant Cage (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Gifted - 6' X 4' x 3'. Do you need to protect young plants from squirrels or deer or birds? This cage might just do the trick.

Free: Owl Mugs (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Expired - Brand new, but each much has a small chip in the lip. If you are right handed, you won't notice. Mugs are, I think, 12oz. Good sized mugs.

Free: Water Pic (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Gifted - My dentist wanted me to use one of these. I tried using it maybe a dozen times and just never stopped hating it. It's in perfect working order. Please note, I will leave this post up for at least 24 hours (until probably Wednesday morning) at which point I will chose from the people who have asked after it by drawing names out of a hat.

Free: Mortar and Pestle (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Gifted - Porcelain, small sized mortar and pestle. I bought myself a big, granite one and now I never use the smaller one. Please note, I will leave this post up until Wednesday morning, at which point I will draw names out of a hat from all the people who asked after it.

Free: Denim Duvet Cover (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Gifted - I don't know if this duvet cover is for a queen or king. This was sent to me by a friend. I was using it as a couch cover. It's much too heavy to be useful for a duvet cover, which is how it ended up as a hand me down in the first place. But it's in excellent condition: no smell, tears, stains, etc... And it's vast quantity of denim. I imagine someone who sews could put this to good use. (Color in real life is much nicer, more blue.)

Free: Red Xmas Lights (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Expired - Two strands of 100 lights. This will be their third and probably last go round - these lights are not designed to last long. There are a dozen or so lights not working. Hubby rehabbed the string so the rest will be good for this season. They are now neatly coiled and securely strapped. I just snapped picture in a hurry after spouse was done fixing them.

Free: Padded Envelopes (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Gifted - I know there have been people in the past who wanted these. I don't expect much interest, but I want to do my due diligence before they get sent to a landfill.

Free: Earthenware Pot (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Gifted - This is an earthenware (low fire) cooking vessel of some kind. I helped a friend move and it was part of a very large pile of items she was hoping I would re-home for her. It's about 8 inches in diameter. I don't know anything else about it.
