Free: Crosstrainer (Withington M20) Withdrawn - If you want this item please give me your post code otherwise I will ignore your email. You will need a decent sized car or van and two people to take this away. Decathlon own-brand, Domyos Crosstrainer VE 750 in excellent condition - because I've hardly touched it since I bought it. It has at least a dozen programmed exercises, you can program your own or you can go for a given time or for a given distance. It says it measures % body fat, heart rate, calories burnt, speed, recovery rate and I can't remember what else. It can keep several (I think eight) people's data. It's heavy and will probably require two people to carry it. I can partially disassemble it so it's "only" 1m35 by 65cm with the upright arms and "trunk" lying on top of the rest of it. Otherwise it's an L shape about 1.5 metres long and high. I may even have the English part of the manual somewhere but you can probably download it from the Decathlon website

Free: 22 inch LG flat screen digital TV (Withington M20) Gifted - If you want this please include your postcode. If you don't include your postcode I shall assume you are merely passing the time of day. It works but, because it's 18 years old it doesn't get ITV X or the latest apps. That could be cured with a Firestick or something similar. It could also be used as a computer monitor. It has a fully working remote control.

Free: Packard Bell 15 inch laptop (Withington M20) Gifted - If you want this laptop please include your postcode. If you do not then I will assume you do not want the laptop and are merely passing the time of day. It was built for Windows Vista so now it has Ubuntu Linux 16.04. It works perfectly but has NO MAINS LEAD and the battery is kaput so you will have to buy one from e-bay (£12.99) or Amazon (£15.99). The [F5] key is missing but the nipple below it works just as well. Packard Bell Easynote, 160GB hard disk, 2GB RAM. Processor: Intel T1600@1.66GHz; Graphics, Mobile Intel GM45 Express Chipset; 2 USB ports, SVGA port for external monitor, separate headphone and microphone ports, Internal CD drive (I cannot remember whether it's a read/write or read only drive). If I choose you for the laptop I will demonstrate that it is working and give you (in writing) the passwords to open it. If you want a quick run through Linux I can do that too.

Free: Dell Inspiron Mini (Withington M20) Gifted - If you want this little laptop please include your postcode in your reply. If you don't include your postcode I shall assume you don't really want it. Also you need to be able to pick up on Saturday afternoon 16 December between 3 and 5 or Sunday afternoon between 4 and 5. I'm not sure as to the longevity of the battery. It didn't work at all when I was first given the machine but it seem to work now - I wouldn't trust it to last all day at the library though. It has a 10 inch screen, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB HDD, atom 270 processor running at 1600MHz, a soundcard, 3 USB ports, 1 ethernet port, 1 card reader port (but I don't know what cards it reads), 1 headphone socket, a separate microphone socket and an SVGA port for an external monitor. The Windows installation was broken so I installed Linux Q4OS. I shall wait until Thursday before I decide who gets the machine and you need to be able to pick up on Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Included with the machine is a padded bag.

Free: Acer laptop (Withington M20) Gifted - First, if you want this please include your postcode with your reply. If you don't include your postcode I will assume you don't really want it. It's old. It doesn't have a battery. Its CD drive (not DVD but CD) doesn't work. The machine itself does work. It is suitable for web browsing, emails, word processing and small spreadsheets. It has a 20 GB hard disk, 256 MB of RAM, a Pentium 4 processor, a built in video card and a sound card. I have installed Linux Q4OS on it as this is a flavour of Linux that is suitable for older machines. It has a serial port and a parallel port (both now obsolete), an SVGA port and 3 USB ports all on the back of the machine. It also has microphone and earphone sockets, what I think are early card readers, a phone cable socket for a built in modem, a network port and a PS1 port for an external mouse or keyboard. I do not know what the socket is on the front. On the other side there are no sockets, just the CD drive which does not seem to work. I used an external CD drive to install Linux on the machine and I can give you an installation CD. You can buy an external CD/DVD drive from Amazon for under £20. Richard

Free: Baby bouncer (Withington M20) Gifted - It's in perfect condition but, in the second picture, you can see two red rings. Those show where there should be a sort of raised arch of playthings for the baby. Unfortunately that is missing. It is not a structural defect, it is a missing toy. We used it for our two youngest grandchildren and they are now too old for it. You can take it on a bus or in a car. You'd have trouble carrying it on a bicycle but you'd probably be ok on an adult tricycle with a back basket. If you want it PLEASE give me your postcode so that if more than one person wants it I can make a more eco-friendly decision.

Free: Panasonic DVD player (Withington M20) Gifted - Panasonic DVD-S75 with mains lead, remote control and SCART lead. Last time I used it it worked. As you can see from the photo of the back panel, SCART isn't the only way to connect to a TV or sound system. Also, you can get a SCART to HDMI converter with cable on Amazon for as little as £10.99. If you want it please give me your post code so I can make a more eco friendly decision if more than one person wants it.

Request: 76 cm wide Stairgate (Withington M20) Expired - Our grandson is a frequent visitor and, now that he is mobile, we want to keep him off the stairs. Please, does anyone have a stairgate that will fit a 76 cm wide gap so that we can keep him safe. I can collect from anywhere in south Manchester but, for my carbon footprint, would prefer it to be within cycling distance of The Christie. Thanking you in advance Free: Babolat 9 racket tennis bag (Withington M20) Gifted - They call it a 9 racket bag because that is the number of rackets it can fit if you put nothing else in. It can comfortably fit 3 rackets and a whole lot of gear - change of clothes, couple of cans of balls, towel, drinks, sandwiches, wallet etc. It's a bit scuffed because it has done duty for about ten years but there are no holes and the zips all work. There are three main pockets and a side pocket (for your wallet, keys etc.) It has two shoulder straps and so can be worn as a backpack and a carrying handle. My children bought me a new bag for my birthday otherwise this one would easily have lasted another ten years. If you want it please give me your postcode so that if more than one person wants it I can use that to help in making a decision. No timewasters please. My last offer went to the tip because of no-shows.

Free: Ikea double bed and mattress (Withington M20) Expired - They are both 15 years old and have seen very little wear as they have been in the guest room. The mattress is pocket sprung, medium and still has its fire safety certificate attached. It is no longer possible to get mattresses to fit these Ikea size beds which is why we are giving both away at the same time. When you want a replacement mattress you can get foam cut to size or you can get a standard double mattress which is about four inches too short and too narrow. The mattress folds in half and so will fit into an MPV or estate car. The bed disassembles and will fit into the same car. I will even deliver VERY locally. The bed is white mdf, the matress is grey. If you want these two please give me your postcode. Free: Ikea double mattress (Withington M20) Expired - It's about 15 years old but it's been almost unused in that time as it's been in the guest bedroom. It wasn't top of the range but if you don't have a mattress it's better than nothing. It still has its fire safety label attached - BS7177:2008. It must go today or tomorrow or it's going to the tip. I'm prepared to deliver it VERY locally so, if you want it, give me your post code please. Free: Two plastic planters (Withington M20) Gifted - Both 28.5 cm tall. The green one is 37 cm in diameter, the terracotta coloured one is 34 cm in diameter. If you want them email me and include your postcode so that if more than one person wants them I can use proximity to help me make a decision. I took the picture just after they were emptied. They will be cleaned up by the time you get them

Free: Large terracotta planter (cracked) (Withington M20) Gifted - 53 cm square at the top, 42 cm square at the base, 40 cm high. Someone who knows what they're doing may be able to fix it with cement or by binding it with metal wire - I just made a larger wooden planter instead. The cracks are on one side and the base. If you want it please email me and include your postcode so that if more than one person wants it I can use that to help me with deciding who gets it. You will need a car or a wheelbarrow (if you live close by) to take it away. It can't be managed on a bike (unless you have trailer) but maybe on an adult trike with a decent sized basket.

Free: Ikea BRÄDA laptop stand (Withington M20) Gifted - In perfect condition, I've replaced it with a cushioned one. A new one only costs £5 so it's not worth travelling a long way to get it,
