This Saturday morning, 10 Jan, is our first cafe of the New Year - so bring along those things you've been meaning to get looked at and our clever people will see what we can do for them. Even if you have nothing that needs fixing at the moment you are most welcome to drop in and see what we do, it's going to be cosier in here than outside!

In our Foyer Spot this month is Barry from Wood & Tails; he can show you how he makes things from reclaimed and recycled materials.

Here's what Barry says:

“I am an Eco Woodworker and make items for people out of recycled wood and other materials.

I mainly use pallet wood and any other wood that I can rescue before it’s thrown away or burned.

The only wood I avoid is painted wood, as it can be unsafe—especially since I love making children’s toys.

I create all kinds of items, from trays and boxes to pet beds, toy chests, bowl stands, and wall units.

I’ll have my portfolio with me, showing the many custom pieces I’ve already made."

Rye Repair Cafe in East Sussex, UK. Our volunteers will help with repairs to your household items, including clothes, bikes, clocks, hoovers etc. We can even sharpen tools and give garden advice.

Tea and cakes with space to chat.

The Cafe operates once a month except August and December, always on the second Saturday of the month between 10am and noon.
