##### The Abbey Repair Cafe is coming back to Cambridge Museum of Technology!

Our team of experienced volunteer repairers can take a look at your broken items including small household appliances, clothes and other textiles, electronic items, bikes, jewellery, and books and papers.

Repairs are FREE, and donations are welcome to support more Repair Cafe and climate action events in Abbey.

Bookings will open in June 2026.

We recommend booking your item in, as there will only be a few walk in slots on the day.

Hot drinks, cakes and biscuits will be available at the kitchen.

Getting to the museum - The museum’s entrance is on Riverside.

* By bicycle: The Museum is on Riverside, part of National Cycle Route 11. It is an easy 10 minute cycle from the city centre.
* By foot: The Museum is a pleasant and peaceful 25 minute walk along the River Cam from the city centre.
* By public transport: The Museum is best served by bus # 3 (direction Fison Road or Whitehill Estate if you are travelling from Cambridge Station or the city centre), bus # 11 (direction Newmarket if you are travelling from the city centre), or bus # 12 (direction Ely if you are travelling from the city centre). The closest stop is ‘Cambridge, River Lane’. Bus # 2 also stops nearby, an 8-minute walk across the river (direction City Centre from Cambridge North Station). The closest stop is ‘Chesterton, Chesterton Road’. Please see the Stagecoach website for timetables and maps.
* Parking: There is lots of street parking within a few minutes walk of the Museum. This includes free parking on Cheddars Lane and Stanley Road, and pay-and-display parking on Riverside. The Museum is also on the bus route from the park and ride Newmarket Road site.

== Hosted by Abbey People Repair Cafe ==

We are a vibrant community charity in the Abbey Ward of Cambridge, improving the lives and wellbeing of Abbey residents. We do this through targeted community projects, provision of general support such as a community Food Hub, supporting access to education and employment, projects to improve the environment, and by developing a culture of volunteering in the community.

We ran our first Repair Cafe in February 2023 at the East Barnwell Community Centre, and hope to run more regular Repair Cafes every few months.

Our group is part of the Cambridgeshire Repair Cafe Network, facilitated by Cambridge Carbon Footprint.
