Saturday, 19 October 2024
11:00 – 15:00
11:00 – 15:00
This event that has already happened.
Ulverston Repair Cafe are joining worldwide events on 19 October for International Repair Day.
In a joint venture with Women’s Community Matters, we'll run a pop-up repair cafe at the Nan Tait Centre in Barrow.
Repairs are free. We are all volunteers, but the URC does have costs so donations are very welcome.
If you know what is required, please bring any spare parts, e.g. a new zip, as we don't carry much stock.
Please note that we don't repair microwave ovens, on safety grounds.
== Hosted by Ulverston Repair Café ==
We are a volunteer group that run a free monthly event that is open to everyone. From electricals to jewellery and zips to furniture, our group of talented repairers are willing to take a look all sort of different things in need of a fix. If you can carry it in, we’ll have a look and fix it if we can.
We’ve also got tea, coffee and goodies to keep you going whilst you visit our café. Even if you’re not bringing something for repair you’re welcome to come along and see what we do. We promise a warm welcome and very reasonably priced refreshments!
Ulverston Repair Café is held on the second Tuesday of the month from 6:30 to 8:30pm. The event is held at Croftlands Community Centre in Ulverston. There is step-free access to the café and toilets are available. Please come and let our volunteers know if you need a hand bringing anything inside from your car.
