Shrewsbury Repair Cafe

Bring along your broken or torn or non-working household items and see if they can be repaired, fixed and mended at the Shrewsbury Repair Cafe - anything from silent radios to non-turning mixers, from holey jumpers to torn bags, from wobbly stools to falling airers, from headless ornaments to floppy teddies.
Meeting in the St. Nicholas Hall of the Shrewsbury United Reformed Church, the repair team will be there to look at your items and advise on their repair. We would kindly ask that you abide by a couple of house rules:
· Your items is brought for repair between 10am and 12 noon
· Only one item per person can be accepted
· Please ensure your item is clean enough to be repaired (vacuum cleaners emptied, toasters with no crumbs, etc)
Throughout the session, there are always wonderful refreshment provided by the members of the Shrewsbury URC, so please stay and chat to the repairers and see items being mended.
All services of the Repair Cafe are conducted for free, but if you are willing or able to make a donation to help cover the ongoing costs, this will be gratefully received.
There is free parking at the venue for users of the Shrewsbury Repair Cafe and there is full disabled access and facilities (please advise us beforehand if you require the disabled access and a member of the team will direct you.

Shrewsbury Repair Cafe meets on the 3rd Saturday of the month from 10.00am to 2.00pm at the United Reformed Church by English Bridge in the centre of Shrewsbury. A volunteer team of nearly 30 repairers have skills and experience in repairing:
* electrical items
* ornaments
* mechanical items
* clothing
* textiles
* clocks
* hand and power tools
* toys
It is always a busy session so come early to avoid disappointment. Free parking is available in the church car park and refreshments are always served.
If you feel you would like to volunteer, just come along to a session. We always welcome new volunteers, whether you have practical skills as a repairer or want to help in the administration and welcome desk or be a friendly person for our visitors to chat to. All are welcome
