Buckden Repair Café will be back on June 7th. This time we are including an Eco Fair to celebrate Great Big Green Week and setting up our Community Nature Reserve. The Eco Fair will include a BioBlitz, and exhibits on Climate Change Gardening, Responsible Recycling and Nature Friendly Gardening. There will also be a small plant stall and we welcome donations of pot plants, seedlings, unused but still viable packets of seeds, etc.
If you are having a "Spring Clean" and find something in need of fixing, please don't throw it out but bring it along to the Repair Café where our repairers will try to fix it for FREE! We welcome small household appliances, electrical and electronic items, computers, mobiles, jewellery, sharpening and mending garden tools, clothes, wooden items, including reglazing picture frames, gadgets, clocks, bicycles & more - just e-mail us with the details and we'll see if we can find someone to look at your item. Bookings are now open and can be made directly using this link https://forms.gle/3NjojicPWCLyMcVQ7 or e-mail us at buckdenrepaircafe@gmail.com
The Café is open to everyone, whether you have something to mend or not, so why not join us for a cuppa and a piece of delicious home-made cake or scone, jam and cream or something savoury if that's more to your taste.
We look forward to seeing you there!

The Climate Change Mitigation Advisory Group of the Parish Council are working to make a more sustainable future for the village. One of the things we want to do is to reduce the amount of “stuff” that people buy and send to landfill.
We hope that by holding a repair cafe at least twice a year we might be able to start to decrease things bought and disposed off unnecessarily. We also want to provide a community focus for more action on tackling climate change.
Currently run by a core group of eight volunteers, we would love to welcome anyone who is interested in the Repair Café movement to join us, especially anyone with repair skills.
