Repair Advice Clinic at Makerspace Oakland (3rd Wednesdays)
Wednesday, 17 September 2025
17:30 – 19:00
17:30 – 19:00
Location:
Makerspace Shop, Northeastern University (Mills College), 5000 MacArthur Blvd, Oakland, CA 94613
Neighbors working together to fix broken things, staffed by volunteer Fixit Coaches who generously share their time, tools and expertise to aid you in assessment, disassembly, troubleshooting and possible repair. All ages welcome!
The first August session focused on all things clothing and textiles, mending skills, jewelry repair and anything that could be fixed with basic hand-tools: screwdrivers, glue, needle and thread. This is a soft opening that will focus mainly on textiles repair. [Repair Advice Clinic Flyer](https://makerspaces.northeastern.edu/events/repair-advice-clinic-3/)
In September the Fix-it Clinic network of volunteers will begin joining these sessions to offer a wider array of repair advice.
Cost: Free, Required: register & sign waiver forms [here](https://forms.office.com/pages/responsepage.aspx?id=gcLuqKOqrk2sm5o5i5IV5zQ...). See [Map](https://makerspaces.northeastern.edu/spaces/oakland/) of Makerspace.

Here's how it works: Neighbors working together to fix broken things, staffed by volunteer Fixit Clinic Coaches who generously share their time, tools and expertise to aid you in assessment, disassembly, troubleshooting and possible repair.
* Bring your broken item with all parts necessary to recreate the symptoms (carry-in only: no oversize items) and any parts and tools you already own that might be helpful (e.g. hand tools, sewing supplies).
* Come ready to describe what’s wrong and what you’ve tried
* Bring your exuberance for trying new things and sharing your knowledge with others.
