Come along and share in the biggest repair cafe that Shropshire has seen.
With nearly 40 volunteers coming together from across some of Shropshire's Repair Cafes, we intend to fix and repair as many items as possible, from electrical items to treasured antiques, from clothing to toys.
Set in the large Blackburn Theatre in Prestfelde School, The Big Mend promises not to be just a repairing event, but also an event where you can get more information on your treasured items or on how to repair them. On hand will be staff from Shropshire Libraries, who will have a selection of resources for you to look through, and also valuers from Halls Auctioneers who will be there to value and advise on your items too, Local exhibitors will also showcase what they do.
So come along, share the cake and refreshments and be part of this fabulous event.
== Hosted by Shrewsbury Repair Cafe ==
Shrewsbury Repair Cafe meets on the 3rd Saturday of the month from 10.00am to 2.00pm at the United Reformed Church by English Bridge in the centre of Shrewsbury. A volunteer team of nearly 30 repairers have skills and experience in repairing:
* electrical items
* ornaments
* mechanical items
* clothing
* textiles
* clocks
* hand and power tools
* toys
It is always a busy session so come early to avoid disappointment. Free parking is available in the church car park and refreshments are always served.
If you feel you would like to volunteer, just come along to a session. We always welcome new volunteers, whether you have practical skills as a repairer or want to help in the administration and welcome desk or be a friendly person for our visitors to chat to. All are welcome
