Amplifier (Kirkby Stephen CA17)

Looking for an amplifier or hifi type thing that we can connect a turntable to. My son has got into vinyl and wants a record player for his birthday, but our budget only stretches as far as a good turntable at present, so looking for something to connect it to to start him off so he can hear his records.
