Wanted: any fruit and veg plants, seedlings or seeds going spare, for a volunteer allotment gardening project at Harrogate District Hospital!
I have been commissioned to create an allotment garden for the hardworking NHS staff at HDH, so that they can get out side on their lunch break and pick and eat fresh produce!!
The Barrel's courtyard is right next to the canteen and the idea is to make it an interactive space for staff to enjoy and benefit from. Really we would like to focus on things you could pick and eat right there, so soft fruit like raspberry canes, strawberry plants, fruit bushes, but also salad leaves and veg like radishes, tomatoes, cucumbers... carrots.... beans... Any other ideas welcome!! Really excited to get this started and get going with it but as it's run by volunteers not a huge budget to put to it, so any donations very very welcome :D
