Floor lamp not working (islington N1)

This lamp stopped working suddenly, and I don't know the cause for this. I know that It is not the fuse or the bulbs. If anyone who knows how to repair electrical items wants to have it, they can have it. I just don't want to take it to the dump, without offering it here first.
