Size: 13.5cm wide, 7.5cm high, 5cm deep. It runs fine on either alkaline or rechargeable (NiMH) batteries. Buttons for setting the date/time/alarm are on the back. There is also a switch at the back to enable/disable the backlight. If enabled, then the backlight will come on automatically in low-light conditions (evening & night). The ONLY drawback of this model is that the backlight is very bright: bright enough to act as a night light for a bedroom. I sellotaped some tinted sheets of plastic over the display to dim down the brightness of the backlight. I estimate that a set of batteries will last about 4 or 5 months with the backlight on. If you want, I can give you 3 alkaline AAA batteries to get you started.
