If you're old enough (i.e. nearly 80) you'll remember the ice cream at Thrifty Drug Store, selling for 5 cents a scoop, and dispensed with a strange cylindrical scoop. Rite-Aid still brands their ice cream "Thrifty" and still uses the bizarre scoop - and I was gifted one of these scoops as a nostalgia gift. It seems very well made from stainless steel, but I'll never use it and it will simply gather dust... so perhaps it's something to stir a memory, or perhaps intrigue your kids.
