Beautiful, fast growing, tall (unless chelsea-chopped), native plant with edible tubers.
Once you have them, you will be like me and give away the many extras that show up uninvited in other parts of your garden. Be careful. Best put somewhere they can be free to wander or alternatively, walled in.
I should note that they do behave well in a shaded garden. Its the full sun that makes them go wild.
