I'm working to save old Windows 10, and even older computers, from landfill. I take old computer kit, fix it up with Linux instead of Windows, and re-offer it on Freegle as a working, usable computer. If it's truly dead, I will strip it down for spares and use the parts to fix other computers I get in.
Microsoft is killing support for Windows 10, so there are now a lot of computers that need to be "retired" because they won't be getting security updates any more, and can't run Windows 11.
If you have one of these, don't throw it away!
I've settled the "Linux Mint" version of Linux as it's really easy to use, runs well on older hardware, and is well supported with lots of ways to get help and support.
