Blanket/Storage Box (Ashfield CA14)

1940/50s style blanket box. This belonged to my mother in law.
When I acquired it I covered it with fresh material, but I was told that to pass it on I had to strip it back to the original materials or I would need a fire certificate.
The original padding and cover are pre certificating era so no cert needed.
The hinges are fine, the padding is good but as you can see the old cover badly needs covering with something new and modern.
It is very easy to cover, simply by tacking on a sheet of material.
It would look good if painted in a modern colour.
Ideal for kids toys, blankets or as a general storage box.
It has been in constant use but I am clearing out and it needs to go.
Such a pity to take it to the tip.
