Epson Stylus 600 & 720 printers (West Chesterton, CB4)

Two different printers to give away, either separately or together.
Epson Stylus Color 600 (SC 600)
Epson Stylus Color 720 (SC 720)

They're both pretty old (the SC 600 from the mid-1990's at a guess, the 720 early in the 21st Century).

BOTH ARE NOT PRINTING AT ALL OR VERY WELL - however that might be just down to lack of ink, or it might be down to the nozzles being clogged as they've not been used for around a decade, each. I've done the built in test on the 720 and get some black output but on the 600 it's a clean sheet of paper I'm afraid.

The mechanics in both seem to be pretty good - despite their age paper feed etc works nicely. It would appear that the internal mechanics to both are the same or very similar. The build quality seems to be better than most modern consumer inkjets.

Why might you want one? Well, if you have any of the consumables it might be worth you having a go at getting one going. Or if you fancy a bit of a project. Alternatively there's lots of neat mechatronics inside, so if you needed small DC motors etc they could be stripped down for those.

The differences are really down to the interfaces - and that dates them.
Neither have any networking.
SC600 has Parallel (intended for PC) and 8-pin Mini-DIN for that weird differential RS422 that Macs used to use until they adopted USB. I also had, but have lost, a cable that adapted the parallel port to USB so I could use it on my newer Mac.
SC720 has Parallel (intended for PC) and USB (intended for Mac, but these days I expect your PC has it too!)

The service manual for the 720 is available here. https://www.manualslib.com/products/Epson-Stylus-Photo-720-4262033.html

For the history minded we used the 600 with a Mac II, Powerbook 165, Performa 630 (given away on Freecycle) and then with an assortment of PCs. The 720 was my mum's and used on an original iMac and then a 2009-era MacBook.

Hoping someone can find a use for these... else it's off to Butt Lane for them.
Collection Times
Any time by arrangement - can leave in my porch.
