Acer Aspire One "netbook", from 2008.
Originally a miniature laptop running Windows XP, suitable for use when travelling, this computer still functions, but has certain limitations (see below).
Size: 25cm x 17cm x 3cm.
Weight: about 1 Kg
RAM : 1 GB
Disc storage: 14 GB
Processor: Intel Atom, 1.6GHz
WARNING:
(1). The battery pack is completely dead, so the netbook has to be connected to the mains in order to operate.
(2). The very limited processor, memory and disc space (see above) means that the computer cannot do anything very ambitious, but is fine for web browsing, reading email, etc.
(3). The machine could not possibly support Windows 10 or 11. The operating system currently installed is a recent version of MX-Linux, a lightweight system derived from Debian GNU/Linux. Although this is a stable, up-to-date and flexible operating system with a very wide range of useful programs pre-installed, it will be unfamiliar to most people.
