Free: Stepladder (Comiston EH10) Aluminium stepladder, usable either as a stepladder or an extendable ladder. Width: 36cm; height: about 197cm with the two subladders alongside each other (depth 17cm), about 174cm with the two subladders angled against each other, up to 320cm with the two subladders forming a single ladder. Light enough for one person to carry. Many spatters of paint and scratches from over thirty years of use (no longer required in a flat with ceilings at 230cm).

Free: Landline phone handset (Comiston EH10) Expired BT Duet basic receiver & rest for a traditional landline phone. It requires no mains electricity, simply plugging into the wall socket (as all phones used to do in the old days), so it's handy to have around in case of a power cut, in spite of its limited range of features. Connecting cable included. The rest can be wall-mounted (screws not included).

Free: Small (and old) laptop (Comiston EH10) Gifted Acer Aspire One "netbook", from 2008. Originally a miniature laptop running Windows XP, suitable for use when travelling, this computer still functions, but has certain limitations (see below). Size: 25cm x 17cm x 3cm. Weight: about 1 Kg RAM : 1 GB Disc storage: 14 GB Processor: Intel Atom, 1.6GHz WARNING: (1). The battery pack is completely dead, so the netbook has to be connected to the mains in order to operate. (2). The very limited processor, memory and disc space (see above) means that the computer cannot do anything very ambitious, but is fine for web browsing, reading email, etc. (3). The machine could not possibly support Windows 10 or 11. The operating system currently installed is a recent version of MX-Linux, a lightweight system derived from Debian GNU/Linux. Although this is a stable, up-to-date and flexible operating system with a very wide range of useful programs pre-installed, it will be unfamiliar to most people.

Free: In-drawer cutlery tray (Comiston EH10) Gifted A moulded plastic tray with separate sections for holding cutlery (or tools, or any small objects). It is intended to fit into a drawer, typically in a kitchen. The outer dimensions are 516mm x 462mm, so it might suit a drawer about 500mm wide. The small plastic bits are separators which can be wedged across the recessed areas to subdivide these longer sections into shorter areas as required.
