D-Lead Professional PaintTest Kits (Darien - near 75th x Cass Ave.)

This is the "D-Lead" EPA recognized kit to test for lead on painted surfaces. Good for older homes where the surface/home was last painted before 1978. Newer applications of paint should seal the offending surface- unless you've got chipping happening which we had in our case. So we tested just to be safe before removing the rest of the chipped paint.

2 kits here. 1 kit has one less vial/test (6) as that's the one we used. The second kit has 7 vials/tests. The company sent us two kits since the sampling tool (like a hole punch) was missing from the first kit.

Take one or both kits. Expiration date: 9/2026.

From AI: "Lead-based paint was banned for residential use in Illinois, as part of the federal ban, in 1978. Any house built before this year likely contains lead-based paint, and Illinois ranks high nationally for housing units with this risk.
