Hutches for hedgehogs (College Town GU47)

No windows, just a flip-top 2’6” X 1’6” X 8” wood box with HH hole and internal chicane for wind break.

Note that a hedgehog would just as likely sleep in a cardboard box or pile of leaves or on concrete under a shelf unit as one of these relative palaces (in our eyes). So, if you don’t have a hutch after this try simple alternatives.
A little hay at a time in this warm weather, cat food kibble (cheapest supermarket brand), and an ever present shallow but heavy water bowl would encourage visitation.
They may not stay, just eat and go. That is when a PIR camera would give you more fun evidence of visits.
Hogs have almost no sense of hygiene and tidiness compared to mice and rats, so frequent mucking out is required… Put a disposable sheet down first, then add hay.
