I posted this a while back but didn't get any takers. I assumed it was because one of the cats used it as a scratching post. I took it to an upholstery shop and was told that unless it had sentimental value, the price to fix it wouldn't be worth it.
My next thought was to remove the torn fabric and turn the piece of wood into a chalk board for kids. Now full disclosure, I'm 64 and the last time I was in a wood shop was in 1975, so mistakes were probably made.
Bottom line, if you know of anyone handy, they can fix whatever I didn't get right. Or, you can use it as is. All screws and boards included. There is still some chalkboard paint in the can, the roller and stirring sticks, in case you have another project you want to do.
NOTE: I'm going to have it available for pickup on Sunday, tomorrow. So please don't flood my emails with pick up times today (Saturday).
Thank you.
