Large (15 pound) pumpkin that a squirrel helped itself to today before I could bring my deliveries inside. It made one roughly walnut-sized hole near the bottom, shown in the photos. Otherwise the pumpkin looks good (or it will once the dirt is washed off), and the squirrel didn't make it through to the hollow interior.
I disinfected the chew hole, but because the flesh is exposed, I can't promise how long it will last outdoors. It’s beginning to dry, and I used Everclear to disinfect it again, and so far the it still looks and smells fine. Someone could roast the pumpkin and/or seeds right away, display it for a few days, or use it as animal food.
