Guatemalan or Central/South American worry doll.
Traditionally from Guatemala and the surrounding regions , these tiny handmade figures are rooted in Mayan folklore.
They are typically crafted using scrap fabric, yarn, thread or wire bound together into a tiny doll, often fitted with a cord or loop so it can be used as a charm or pendant.
According to legend, if you are troubled or can't sleep, you tell one worry to the tiny doll before bed and place it under your pillow. By morning, the doll is said to have taken your worry away.
