Hello,
A bit of a big ask, I know, but does anyone have a power cable for a Microsoft Surface Book 1 (aka first generation), please?
I've just bought one secondhand and it's come with two brick-y things; one seems to be a transformer/power converter and the other is like a hub thing, where you can plug in an ethernet cable, USBs and the like.
I try to use computers plugged in to the mains (partly to extend the life of the battery and partly because it seems more energy efficient to use electricity directly rather than have the power pass through a battery first) but in this case, because of the connectors, I can't do that without using both 'bricks' (see pic).
They're pretty heavy and rather cumbersome, and annoying, given that I have no use for the hub but can't use the Surface Book from the mains without it, so it would be great if I could get a one-'brick' alternative. And, yes, I am 100 per cent aware what a First World problem this is!
I've tried looking for one on t'internet but I'm not very tech-y so I don't want to risk buying one that might fry my lovely 'new' Surface Book, plus none of the ones I've looked at seem to have exactly the same (magnetic) connector to the computer as mine, but if someone happened to have a suitable power source lying around (maybe it was possible to buy a Surface Book without the hub back in the day?) and looking for a new home, I'd be so grateful to give it that loving new home. Or, even, be up for swapping their one 'brick' for my two?
Thanks for reading,
Alison
