Free: Keyed Door Knob Lock Set (By Hackney Downs station E5) FREE – complete door knob lock set looking for a door to call home. 🔑🚪 Includes the two metal door knobs, locking mechanism, latch, strike plate, three keys, fitting tool and instructions – basically all the little bits that usually mysteriously disappear the moment you need them. Lovely brushed/dark metal finish and in as new condition. I cannot promise that it will fit every door known to humanity, so please have a good look at the photos and fitting instructions to make sure it is suitable for yours. Free to someone with a door, a screwdriver and considerably more enthusiasm for fitting locks than I currently possess. 😄 Collection only.

Free: Vintage Christmas Card Hangers (By Hackney Downs station E5) FREE – a little piece of Woolworth Christmas history! 🎄 Set of 10 Christmas card hangers, each holding up to four cards, so you can display up to 40 cards. The hangers link together, allowing you to create a suitably magnificent cascade of Christmas greetings. Used only once. I simply don’t have enough room to display cards this way anymore. The contents are complete and in very good condition. The packaging, however, has travelled a harder road through life. 😄 It is original, intact-ish and proudly still advertising its 75p Woolworth price. Made in Great Britain, from the days when Christmas cards arrived in such quantities that apparently specialist infrastructure was required. Pen and tape measure in the photo are for size reference only and are not included. Free to a good home – ideally one with more Christmas cards and more wall space than mine. 🎅📮

Free: Rainbow Weekly Pill Organiser (By Hackney Downs station E5) FREE – brand new weekly pill organiser in rather fabulous rainbow colours. 🌈 Never used. I bought it with every intention of becoming the sort of beautifully organised person who carries a week’s medication neatly in her handbag. Then I saw the size of it and realised my handbag already has enough responsibilities. 😄 Seven separate compartments, one for each day of the week, with lovely spring-loaded buttons – press the white button and the little lid pops open. Surprisingly satisfying! Approximately 12–13 cm across – pen and tape measure in the photo for scale. New, colourful and waiting for someone more organised than me. Collection only. 💊🌈

Free: Zen Feet – As new (By Hackney Downs station E5) Promised FREE – JML Zen Feet electrical muscle stimulation foot massager. Tried for about 30 seconds, but it just wasn’t for me, so I decided to pass it on. 😄 So it is essentially as-new, apart from its very brief and unsuccessful career in my household. Comes with: * Foot mat * Control unit * Remote control * USB charging cable * Instructions * Original box It has 8 modes and 19 intensity levels. I didn’t get far enough into it to really explore what it can do. Free to someone whose feet are perhaps more adventurous than mine. Collection only. 👣

Free: Broken Metal Dog Planter (By Hackney Downs station E5) FREE to someone who enjoys a little rescue mission. 🐶 Quirky metal dog planter, around 60 cm tall when assembled. He has long legs, splendid feet, a plant-pot body and a face with considerable personality. Unfortunately, his head has parted company with his body. The metal stem that connects the head to the planter has broken, as shown in the photos. Everything is still there, so someone handy with welding, metalwork or an ingenious repair may be able to reunite them. Otherwise in as new condition. Alternatively, he could be repurposed — planter, garden sculpture, spare metal parts, or the beginning of an extremely niche art installation. Free, collection only. Please adopt him. He has already been through enough. 😄

Free: Grey Vinyl Flooring Offcut (By Hackney Downs station E5) Expired Leftover sheet of grey wood-effect vinyl flooring from a refurbishment project. Approximate size: 90 cm × 200 cm. There are a couple of staple holes near one edge where it was temporarily fixed in place, but otherwise it is in good usable condition. Ideal for: * Small bathroom or utility room projects * Shed or workshop flooring * Protecting floors during decorating * Craft projects * The world’s most stylish guinea pig apartment Please note that the vinyl has been rolled up for storage and currently has more waves than the North Sea, but it should flatten out once laid and weighted down.

Free: Grasslin QE7+ Immersion Timer (By Hackney Downs station E5) Expired Free QE7+ / MK2 immersion heater timer and boost controller. Removed during a bathroom upgrade and offered on as it may be useful to someone who knows what they are doing with electrical installations or for learning purposes. Features: * 24-hour mechanical timer * Separate boost function * Adjustable boost time from 15 to 120 minutes * Model QE7+/MK2 (04.33.0004.1) * Includes mounting backplate and small fitting shown in the photos Condition: * Fully working when removed * Replaced only because I upgraded to a digital controller * Used condition with some cosmetic marks from normal use * Includes mounting backplate and fitting shown in the photos Perfect if your immersion heater controller has stopped working or if you need a replacement for an existing Grasslin unit. This one was fully operational when removed and was only replaced as part of an upgrade to a digital controller.

Free: Cycling Matrix Sunglasses (By Hackney Downs station E5) Gifted Wraparound sports sunglasses with mirrored rainbow lenses and full “early-2000s action movie extra” energy. UV400 protection. Lightweight and comfortable, with a sporty curved fit that stays put better than my motivation to exercise. Good condition overall and comes with a soft cloth pouch. Perfect for cycling, running, festivals, pretending you’re in a sci-fi film, or dramatically looking into the distance for no reason. A few light signs of use from normal wear, but nothing major.

Free: Anglepoise-Style Desk Lamp (By Hackney Downs station E5) Expired Free adjustable desk lamp, approx. 56 cm tall. It was working the last time I used it and takes an E27 bulb, max 40W. Bulb not included. The metal has some scratches. The issue is that the plastic collar/joint where the arm connects to the base is worn, so the lamp no longer holds properly in position. I tried to remove the worn part but couldn’t manage it. One for someone handy who likes a small repair challenge.

Free: Silver 3-Spot Ceiling Light Bar (By Hackney Downs station E5) Expired Free silver 3-spot ceiling light bar, approx. 57 cm long. Second hand, with some light scuffs to the metal. The three spotlight heads can be adjusted. It takes GU10 bulbs, 50W max, but no bulbs are included. I was given it second hand but never had the skills to fit it to the ceiling, so I’m passing it on to someone handier.

Free: 2 vertical blind tracks & fittings (By Hackney Downs station E5) Expired Two white vertical blind rails/tracks available, ideal for replacements, DIY projects or spare parts. Includes: * 1 rail with 24 runners/carriers – approx. 177.5 cm * 1 rail with 12 runners/carriers – approx. 91.5 cm * Wall brackets/fittings * Some blind weights, hooks and connecting chain (not a complete set) Pull cords and rotating mechanism included and in working order. Just a little entangled. :) Condition: Used but functional when removed. The side that was against the ceiling is a little dusty. It has a few traces of white paint, which I think should come off quite easily with a clean. A few spare parts included, though not enough for a full set of blinds. Long items, so collection only please.

Would be great if they get a second life rather than going to landfill.

There are some signs of wear and light rust in places (see photos), but nothing that affects use. Could also be refreshed with a bit of TLC if you enjoy a small project. Comfortable and sturdy — ideal for a kitchen counter, bar area or studio space. Free: Humanscale Keyboard Tray System (By Hackney Downs station E5) Gifted Humanscale keyboard tray system with installation instructions. I picked this up from another user but can’t use it, as it needs to be fixed to the underside of a desk and I’m not allowed to drill holes in my work table. I only looked at the instructions and realised it requires mounting, so passing it on exactly as received, in the same bag. It is quite heavy. I managed to carry it on public transport, but it was definitely a bit of a workout. Free to collect near Hackney Downs station (E5). Collection Saturday 7 or Sunday 8 March. I can’t remember the exact reassembly process, but I believe all the pieces are there, including the screws and fixings shown in the photos.
