Free: 3D Puzzles (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Don't ask me how they work or how to solve them because I don't know. 3D puzzle lovers will recognize them immediately. They are all made by a craftsman and should last for centuries. If there is a lot of interest, I can divide the collection into thirds and gift three puzzles to three people. PLEASE NOTE: I will mail the puzzles to you. I live in the boonies - way too far away for anyone to do a pick up. These are easily mailed out.

Free: Antique Clock (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Gifted this clock is a family heirloom that my father in-law gave to my husband forty years ago. The clock didn't work then and it doesn't work now. It is supposedly valuable, though I wouldn't know for sure. The clock itself has been immaculately protected by the glass dome, but the brass coating on the base - the part exposed to the air - has mostly flaked off. I've been dusting this non-working clock for all that time and I don't want to dust it anymore ever again. Hoping there is a clock repair fan out there who wants to have at it. Because I live in the boonies, I have to deliver items, but can only do so on the west side of the bay

Free: Floor Waxer (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Gifted I don't know if anyone has floors they need to wax anymore so I doubt anyone will need this floor waxer, but I figured I'd put it out there just in case. It's from the 1960's and works as well as it did the day it was sold, because they don't make appliances like they used to.

Free: Three dimensional wooden fish puzzl (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Gifted 8" X 12" X1&1/2". We took it apart and put it back together once. It was a lot of fun. But we've had it for 25 years and haven't wanted to do it again. Time to hand it off to another, 3D puzzle fan. Free: AAA Maps (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Gifted Forty plus AAA maps - Bay Area, California, Western US and Hawaii. Twenty years old? I think I am finally done grieving over the switch from paper maps to virtual. I hope someone is keep an old maps archive, but I have come to accept the fact that I am not an archivist. Maybe the maps could be used for an art project? Thought I'd put them up for grabs on trash nothing for a couple of days just in case someone has an idea on how to put them to use. Please note: I WILL MAIL THE MAPS TO WHOEVER WANTS THEM. You will need to provide a mailing address.

Free: Battery Operated Lantern (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Gifted 12" high. LED so very efficient and bright. It has a carabiner style "hook" on top so you can hang it from center of a tent. Uses three D sized batteries. It was high end when we bought it. It's still in great shape and should last for decades. (We have three of these lanterns, but only need one so I figure I can give one away.) PLEASE NOTE: I will DELIVER - But NOT to Fremont/Union City/East SJ. Free: Vertical Window Insert Cat Door (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Gifted It should fit into a window that is between 44" and 49" tall. It works really well. Is double paned and weather proof. Free: Low Flow Shower Head (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Expired This is an almost new, nifty, low flow shower head. The top sprayer adjusts up and down to accommodate different heights. There is also a hand held accessory that is part of the set up. This shower head was installed in the house we just purchased because of some real estate transaction technicality that now asks if there have been low flow shower heads and toilets installed. The problem we have with this shower head is that it is too low flow. It reduces flow by creating a lot of mist. Unless it's a warm day or you have a really warm bathroom, this mist can be chilling. Because I loathe throwing out working items that are practically brand new, I am putting it up for grabs on Trash Nothing, but the mist is a real problem and it will go into recycle if no one wants it. Free: Hanging Light (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Expired The five sided handmade basket lamp shade is much nicer than it looks in the picture. I love this lampshade and don't want to give it up, but I have no place for a hanging light in my new house. You have to hang the light from a hook in the ceiling. Works great. Comes with a compact fluorescent. Shade is approximately 18" in diameter. Because of my remote location, I WILL DELIVER - but only to Menlo Park, East Palo Alto, Palo Alto, Mt.View, Los Altos or Sunnyvale.

Free: Cape Myrtle Tree (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Gifted Tree is about 4' tall and in a temporary pot - temporary as in it should be planted in a larger pot or in ground ASAP. I have no idea what color the flowers are. It was planted by a realtor as part of staging for the house we bought. I do not fancy the plant. It should go somewhere it will be enjoyed.

Free: Garbage Disposal - Works (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Gifted We just moved. I despise garbage disposals so I removed the one that had been installed. It works great. Free: 8 strips bamboo flooring (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Expired It's in perfect condition. We just moved into a new house. This was left over from a remodel by previous owner. It seems a shame to through it out. I thought I'd see if there wasn't someone who would use it. Please note: I will deliver! I live in the boonies so too much hassle to pick up.

Free: Weber Charcoal Grill and Chimney (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Gifted This is an OLD grill - forty years old? The bottom levers, where the ash drains out, are stuck open. Otherwise, everything is in working order. Grill comes with a Swiss Chimney so you can light coals without lighter fluid.

Free: Iron Filings (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Gifted I have half a gallon of iron filings that I bought for fun. Iron filings is the black, coarse "powder" that is used at children's museums for exhibits with big magnets. Iron filings and magnets make for a lot of fun. The filings can stain clothing and carpet so if you want to set up a play/tactile experience using them, you will want to do so outside or in an area without carpeting. I would keep them, but I am moving and can't take anything that isn't absolutely necessary/

Free: 8' long, 2" diameter black bamboo (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Gifted I have 8 to 10, eight foot long, one and a half to two inch in diameter poles of bamboo that I need to harvest - after black bamboo flowers, you have to take it out. Anybody have a hankering to use some super bamboo for a project?

Free: Oster "Golden A5" Clippers (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Expired Oster clippers. Lightly used, still function perfectly, made to last. Comes with one 4mm blade.

Free: New Swimsuit, size 40 (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Gifted I tried this suit on once, intending to swim in it, but then took it off one or two minutes later after admitting it really was too small (I'm 5'6", 180lb?). Because I put it on once, I can't give it to a charity. But before I throw it out, I thought I'd offer to gift it on Trashnothing in case some woman with curves needs a suit and doesn't care that I put it on once. Suit was made by Illusions Swimwear.

Free: Rose: Fire King (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Expired I got this rose, bare root, from Heirloom Roses. It's a patio rose - good in pots, stays small. Flower is gorgeous orange red, but not much in the way of scent. This rose is susceptible to mildew - it has some on it right now. I only do easy care roses. If you are up for treating a rose for mildew, you can have this one. It's in a one gallon pot right now. I am deliberately not including a picture because I figured it was a better way to get someone who really wants a rose rather than people who want random plants.

Free: Audio Book: Gravity's Rainbow (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Expired I bought an audio copy of Thomas Pinchon's "Gravity's Rainbow" and downloaded it onto my phone. It's a famous book that I've been meaning to have a crack at for a while. I'm not taking to it. Would anyone else like to give it a try? I will need your email in order to transfer it to you.

Free: Paper Plates, Plastic Forks, etc (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Gifted Paper plates, paper bowls, plastic cups, forks, spoons, knives, a couple disposable table cloths - every thing you need for a big family reunion picnic at the park. These are the very carefully stored collected remnants of dozens of parties so it's all mismatched, but also clean, dust free, etc...

Free: 25 Gallon Fresh Water Fish Tank (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Gifted This post will be up until MAY 1st in order to give people opportunity to see post. This is hundreds of dollars worth of equipment - scoops, chemicals, filters, pump, fresh water driftwood, lava rocks, proper overhead lights - everything except gravel, plants, water and fish. If you want this tank and gear, please tell me why. Five days from now I will pick a name out of a hat. I'm hoping for someone who wants to set up a fresh water fish tank, but can't afford all the gear.

Free: Oster "Golden A5" Clippers (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Expired These clippers are thirty years old, but they haven't been used in decades, were only lightly used, still function perfectly and they were manufactured at a time when a lot of tools, Oster clippers definitely included, were made to last. There is one blade, 4mm, I believe, that comes with them. As I expect a lot of interest in these clippers, I will NOT gift them to first person who asks. I will wait a day or two, collect names, then draw one out of a hat.

Free: 1975 edition of Joy of Cooking (Palo Alto, near Cal Ave) Expired For a cook book, this book is in good shape. I have great sentimental attachment to this book because it's the book that I used to learn how to cook when I was ages six through twelve. This is the copy I bought for myself as a teen. I haven't cooked out of it in decades, so almost all of the pages are in good shape. The one that has a lot of "evidence of cooking" is the section on meatballs. But the binding on this book was made with the understanding that it was going to get a lot of hard use and was designed to last.
