Fireguard WITH TOP PANEL (Eardisley, HR3)
Expired
From time to time a crow or a jackdaw has fallen down a chimney into our spare bedroom. In its panic, the poor bird makes a horrible mess of the room. The ideal solution would be a bird guard at the top of the chimney to prevent birds getting access and falling down but it is extremely difficult to reach this particular chimney to fit one. Obviously we try to make sure that whenever possible (ie, except when we are actually away from home) we check every day to see if we need to rescue an involuntary intruder, but it would be good to minimize the mess. And, of course, it would be easier to see the situation when we do our checking if we didn’t have to check in hiding places. The photo shows the kind of thing we have in mind.

Black plastic "crockery" (Eardisley, HR3)
Expired
I am an obsessive recycler, re-user, anything-but-dumper. For years I have been saving black plastic in the hope that eventually recycling facilities for it will become available. I now have huge numbers of the two bigger items in this picture (which I was given by someone who had meals delivered to him on a regular basis). But, as we now rarely see ready meals packed in black plastic, I think its use is being discontinued and there's really no hope of finding anywhere local to take it to for recycling. So I'm going to have to take it to the dump. But before I do that I thought I'd ask if anyone had any use for the items (I also have quite a lot of the little pots, just not the vast quantities I have of the bigger ones). They are PET plastic, so reasonably ovenable, freezable, microwavable, food quality. You could use them to freeze batches of home-cooked food in individual portions. They could be useful for crafts, toddler play, gardening. And my husband has pointed out there could be ways of making use of them, for example, to create soakaways. Finally, if you think you might be interested, you don't need to take the whole lot! You can have as many or few as you'd like. (And, if you use one or many, when you've finished with it you can put it in the dustbin with a clear conscience.)

Vintage Moulinex Food Processor (Eardisley, HR3)
Gifted
This vintage Moulinex Maxima De Luxe Food Processor is in working order. One (unimportant) component, the spatula, is missing and the others are in good condition, apart from the pusher; this is perfectly functional but its rim has a rather chewed look! If you think you may be interested in this, please note that its capacity is quite modest. So it may not suit you if you have it in mind to use it for batch cooking and freezing. I'd rather it went to someone who was happy about that.
