Free: Vacuum with broken handle (Maple Leaf) Expired You know that old beater Corolla that you wish would just die already so you can justify getting a new car? That's this vacuum. I think it's going on 20 years now, multiple belt changes and beater detanglings, some duct tape to fix bits of cheap plastic housing, and the thing still works great. Ugh. The handle finally broke off. I've been using it without a handle and thinking about how to carve up a 2x4 to replace it. Then I sliced my hand open on the broken plastic and came into a new old vacuum at the same time. Ha! I'm currently hunting down a screwdriver to remove the sharp bit, and I'll empty the canister and wipe it down. I may be able to find some of the attachments and a replacement filter, but no guarantees. Update: plastic removed and new filter found USED WITH CATS IN HOUSE

Free: 9" band saw, again (Maple Leaf) Gifted Needs some work (a few bolts, an improvised clamp, check for rust?) but last time we dug it out it ran. As they say in used car land: simple fix - I'd do it myself, but who has the time?

Free: Giant puffball spores (Maple Leaf) Expired Found in Steven's Pass area. Probably Calvatia booniana, but they're all edible when pure white. Will it grow in the Puget lowlands? I've never seen one, but let's give it a try! Let me know if you prefer a piece of mature gleba or a jar of spore slurry (molasses solution + a pinch of salt - tell me if you have a better recipe). Available while supplies last. Find a spot in a meadow or lawn, or at the drip line of a mulched shrub, maybe in chips at the outside edge of a raised bed? Puffballs like disturbed soil and buried wood or other "brown" plant material like dead grass roots, as far as I know, and a moist protected area for the initial mycelial growth. Beyond that, ???? Your web search is as good as mine.

Free: 1.5 bags of diatomaceous earth (Maple Leaf) Gifted Let me know if you only want one, and I'll relist the other. One unopened bag and one half bag. I'm putting these away if they aren't claimed with a specific pickup window by the end of Friday.

Free: Deer oak seedlings (Maple Leaf) Gifted And sprouts. 6 seedlings, 5 sprouted acorns with root. Attractively-textured broadleaf evergreen shrub, gets 8-10ft but mine's been in for 15 years, spread to 7ft without topping 4ft tall. Apparently self-fertile but no guarantees - oaks interbreed freely. Let me know how many and i will relist the rest. Bonus volunteer red oak of some sort, if you want it - seemed to be from a long pointy acorn. Probably a large tree. Slow response today but will try to keep an eye out

Free: 9" light duty band saw (Maple Leaf) Expired Probably works, probably needs tuneup. Go ahead & ask even if promised. Edit: One side of the mount for the plate is broken. There is one original screw and bolt + one scavenged bolt holding the plate on, and it seems solid, but for a fully secure surface you will want to rig up something for that third bolt to grip. It doesn't look like it would require specialized equipment - a piece of plywood maybe, and some imagination - but it might be an interesting 3d printer project. Or maybe a job for a bandsaw.
