Free: Wood (Oswestry SY11) This is made of wood - very solid, solid enough to sit safely on. For a while, I used it like a coffee table. But you could take it to bits and make something else out of the wood. It started life as a piece of furniture for standing a television (etc) on. It had castors, but they fell to bits a long time ago. Years before I acquired it, someone must have removed shelves in it (see the row of holes on the end pieces).

Free: Sleeping bag (Oswestry SY11) Gifted This is a very, very old sleeping bag, but it's been folded away in a cupboard for years, not being used - and has just been washed. It's a Black's down-filled single, but has an all-round zip so it will open out flat or could be joined to another one to make a double bag. Compared to what you buy now, this is probably not great for cold weather. Maybe it's only good now for dog bedding?

Free: 'Drawing and Painting People' (Oswestry SY11) Expired 'Drawing and Painting People. A Fresh Approach' by Emily Ball. Published 2009. This is not a beginner level book. Many of the projects and exercises overlap with what I did as a first year undergraduate art student, for example.

Free: Knitting wool (Oswestry SY11) Gifted This is probably for a knitter with a specialist sort of interest in wools. I don't know its history (helping a friend clearing out) so took some into Oswestry's Ewe & Ply to ask what they thought it was. They think it is a mixture of Shetland wool and dog hair, and that the dog is the more yellow part of the yarn (a bit more yellow than these photos make it look). Some is in balls, some in hanks. It might - or might not - all be from the same batch. Ewe & Ply suggested trying it on 6mm needles. There is 1.3 kg of it altogether.
