Request: Various Renovation items. (Podsmead GL1) My husband and I are renovating a bungalow for some older relatives with limited mobility before they can move in. We are fixing lots of issues, as well as doing a full repaint, and have changed most of the electrics so far. The budget is tight, it feels like a 2 person episode of DIY SOS to be honest, so thought I'd check here for items that people might have in a shed. *Smile* So much work has been caused by the previous occupiers bad bodge repairs and decor, it's unreal. Things we currently need please.. or Anything similar that you think might work, if you have it spare please Inbox me Laytex floor levelling compound or cement (flatter floors are better for a wheelchair) Raised planters, raised flower beds etc. Used grow bags (not good for growing veg anymore, but decent enough for the bottom layers in raised beds. Garden fence paint in a standard ish orange to brown colour, lots of it, I reckon 3 tubs worth. Also a fence paint brush please. A loft ladder and some loft boards. Outdoor metal paint (for a prefab shed) in a plain/neutral colour like beige or navy blue please. Maybe a nice newish outside doormat. White Kitchen cupboard (double door sized, I could trim if too big) shelves and the shelf pins if you have them A double kitchen sink (the one that's in the house has non standard fittings and the previous occupier siliconed it together, then used gorilla glue, so it's unrepairable and leaks) A movable kitchen mixer tap in good condition (current one leaks). Black silicone or similar to fill holes in the black kitchen worktop. I'd happily have new worktops, but I can't fit those myself, I know my limits *haha* White radiator paint (some look nasty but aren't that old, I assume furniture frequently rubbed them). A potted fruit tree, to be planted in the garden. Apple, pear, plum, if it's outgrowing it's plant pot, we can save it. A couple of insect hotel wall mounted boxes to help the pollinators would be wonderful too. My Home and the bungalow we're fixing up are both in Podsmead Gloucester. I'm not *expecting* anything, but these things would help a lot please. The nearer to Podsmead, the better! Thank you for reading, Julie

Free: Old carpet, brown (Podsmead GL1) 3 small bedrooms all the same. Not great condition, came with the house. I'd suggest okay for a shed or garden weed control.

Request: Plasterboard (Podsmead GL1) Does anyone have any large offcuts of plasterboard please? It's for the inside of built-in wardrobes in the old prefab bungalow I'm renovating for relatives. There are two cupboards side by side, but in different rooms that are in the wall. It's literally made of old very thin particle board, thinner than most cardboard boxes! I'd like to add a basic wood batten frame and line with plasterboard so they can withstand the occasional accidental wheelchair bump, and so it can be painted and feel clean and new. Please and thank you
Request: Pool skimmer or net (Podsmead GL1) Withdrawn Does anyone local please have one of those garden pool skimmer things that acts like a plug hole at the surface of your pool and draws water through a little basket? Or even just a pool net? I'd much rather reuse something that's sat in a shed unused, than add new plastic to the world. :) I've got one of those "fast set" type pools with the inflatable ring at the top, and right now there are so many flying bugs. (Nasty!) I already have a pool filter pump (set up on a timer plug), chlorine tablets, water test strips and solar warming mats, so my water is safe but it looks dirty with tiny debris floating or suspended in it. Thanks neighbours

Request: Fake trellis plant (Podsmead GL1) Expired Hi neighbours. I'd love a small left over bit of artificial plant screen, fabric, or even a ribbon like version. In my garden the outside light is slightly higher than my garden fence, and as it's a sensor type light I think it blinds my nearest neighbours. I've put up a small trellis, and anything to further obscure the light would be great. I'm not fussy on style, wether it's ivy style and just leafy foliage, or if it's a floral thing. As long as it's for outside decoration, it'll be perfect. Please and thank you.

Request: Cb radio items (Podsmead GL1) Expired I've recently received my late dad's cb radio. Original 1980s car CB. Sadly I have no mic or anything but the base unit, nothing else was found. I'd love a car mounting bracket (for the radio itself), a magnet aerial, a 12v cigarette style plug to add to the bare black and red power cable for safety and a 4 pin microphone please? I know this is a long shot! The CB powers up, but no sound, so it's being posted to a specialist for repair. If anyone happens to have any of this I would very much appreciate it. I told my mum I'm going to get the old thing running, as they used to chat a lot on CB before they got together. Would be great if I could get vintage parts to match!

Request: Soap tins (Podsmead GL1) Expired Hiya, does anyone have any unwanted gruum, body shop or similar soap tins please? Or maybe a couple of old fashioned sweets tins with screw lids, approximately 8 cm across and 3cm deep? I use a lot of the eco personal care products like solid shampoo, solid skin moisturisers (like a wax that melts at skin temperature) and even suncare but most of the eco brands want you to pay £3 plus postage for an empty tin. Sending an empty bit of packaging in the postal system is such a waste, plus it's likely come from China too. I figure there might be someone local with some empty tins in a similar size? Please and thank you

Request: Commode (Podsmead GL1) Expired I'm on the lookout for a commode with a removable bowl that I can use as a toilet support frame for when my mum is visiting soon. Needs to be something with a normal loo seat, so we have mum friendly whilst she's here, and can easily move it to the garage or loft when she goes home. (Our toilet seat is a quick release sort, so a commode works perfectly as a support frame. She has an identical set up in her home) Our loo is one of those built in to a cupboard sort, so a drop down rail like you get in public loos won't work for as the MDF/chipboard is not enough for those. Condition not too important, I have hammerite for minor rust spots, as long as it will safely take weight, I'll tidy it up.

Free: Metal bunk beds. (Fiddler's Green GL51) Gifted Several years old, used for the grandkids. Mattresses may be included if you require them. We've taken it partially apart into two bases and the uprights, plus a bag of screws. It will break down further by taking the slats off the sides, they just push in, but that's up to the collector to do. (Listing on behalf of downsizing relatives in Cheltenham. They are older folks, and can't help you with lifting or loading into a car. Sorry)

Free: 2 optics thingymabobs for booze (Podsmead GL1) Gifted 2 shot dispensers that looks like the Amazon item I screenshoted. No idea what size of spirits they dispense. I think they are for full sized gin/whisky bottles not the half sized ones. I'm sober and they were in our campervan when we bought it, so they need to go.

Free: Glass fridge shelf (Podsmead GL1) Expired Old fridge shelf. I took from our old (electrically failed) Hotpoint fridge in the hope it would fit the new one, but it doesn't. 29cm, by 46.5, and about 0.4 thick. It's scratched and has marks but not cracked, the corners are trimmed off from new. Offering before I recycle incase someone needs it.

Request: Bar towels (Podsmead GL1) Expired Hi local people, I'd really like some pub/bar towels please. I have a bath towel I made by sewing together bar towels, and it's great but not quite big enough. If I could get a few I could make my favourite towel big enough to use at a beach or swimming pool without embarrassment, that would be great. If I am lucky enough to get too many, I'd happily make a spare one. Thank you. (Images from a certain overpriced auction site)

Free: Huge real Xmas tree (Podsmead GL1) Gifted In our front garden we have a 15-year-old Christmas tree that is now growing out of control. It's probably about 12 or 14ft tall about 6 to 8ft wide at the bottom. I'm going to have a professional chop it down. If anybody wants a fresh Christmas tree, and can COLLECT IT after I've had it cut Please get in touch. I'd love for it to be used one last time, maybe by a charity or community group, even a family (but you'll need to chop a few ft off the bottom to get in a house), I'd rather it not just get chipped up and composted straight away.

Free: L shaped sofa bed (Podsmead GL1) Gifted Is in 2 parts, only 1 part clearly in photos as the other bit is covered in moving boxes. 🫣 Need to go as it's scruffy and we have a better sofa that suits the colour scheme in our lounge, but only have space for one. The photographed part folds out into a small double bed, I'm not going to pretend it's a comfy bed, but it's better than nothing if a friend needs to sleep over after a few glasses of something. 🤣 As a sofa it's comfy. The other half is backless, like a chaiselounge, and opens as an ottoman type storage space. It's real leather I believe, and could be carefully polished back up using solid brown waxy shoe polish. VERY heavy. Needs a van to move, I won't be able to help move this, as I have hidden disabilities.

Free: 2 wall hanging Xmas trees (Podsmead GL1) Gifted Wall hanging half Xmas trees. Used to be on the walls behind the till at Debenhams, but I saved them from the bin a decade ago. Made of Cream coloured tinsel, sadly dropping a few bits of tinsel now, but will hopefully last a couple more winters. I used to hang one in each of my son's rooms so they could have their own tree and own style of decorations (one chaotic, one pristine).

Request: Tile adhesive, LVT and ceramic (Podsmead GL1) Expired Hi, I'm doing some DIY and home decorating and would love some LVT glue, for the floor tiles, and some wall tiles adhesive (or adhesive and grout all in one, but I already have coloured grout). I don't need loads of either so I'm asking here before buying big tubs. The wall tiles are the tiny mosaic sort to make a little splashback behind the kitchen sink. I'd also appreciate some 5.5mm plywood, and a ceramic tile nibbler, scorer or cutter.

Free: Big calendar (Podsmead GL1) Expired Hi folks, I feel bad for offering it today, but it's most useful before January. I need a digital calendar as I have memory issues. Even if I write things on a paper calendar, I'll forget to check it, so that's why I need a shared digital calendar with reminder beeps, so my husband can also remind me of things. Free: For leather crafts. Damaged leather sofa (Podsmead GL1) Expired The sofa itself has died, the seats are held together by denim patches and hope. Some of the wooden supports are snapped, and the seat padding is topped up with pillows and foam forced into the base. This damage was started by my late dog, who honestly ate parts of the leather when she panicked, then made worse by having a very clumsy child and about 15 rescued rabbits since then. Bunnies dig, scratch and have no manners. 🐇🤣 So the seats themselves are in my opinion unsalvageable. The back of this sofa is however pretty flawless black genuine leather. It was a DFS 5 place L corner sofa. I thought maybe a leather crafts person might want it? Or if you need furniture feet, or the connection parts, come and remove parts, or the whole thing. Your choice. Preferably before it rains.
