Salisbury Soft Suitcase With Wheels (Elmstead BR7)
Salisbury brand soft suitcase with small wheels and a hand strap to pull it along. It opens and closes with a zip and two strong straps with the usual adjustable plastic click fastenings. It would need a small padlock to lock the two ends of the zip together. There is a separate zip compartment inside the lid, and a bag inside the lower part. It measures 87 x 44 x 20cm. If my maths is right that makes its capacity 76 litres. It seems to be made of a woven fabric, possibly nylon. Used but in good condition.

Wine cooler (Elmstead BR7)
Withdrawn
It fits a standard bottle of wine, mineral water, fruit juice, or whatever, and the top inch or so is glazed. There is a bunch of grapes design on the front that I have tried to capture in the second photo. I doubt it has ever been used.

Home made wine rack (Elmstead BR7)
Gifted
I made this at home in the early 1980s for storing my home made wine. It is made from the wood from a wardrobe my parents bought in 1949 when they were first married: hence the finish, which I think is burr elm, and the thickness of the wood. It measures 80 x 107 x 23 cm and holds at least 40 bottles of wine on its 8 shelves. Admittedly some will be a tight fit, and the shelves don't stop them rolling about. Please be aware that this is rough and ready shelving suitable for a garage or shed rather than the home. You could unscrew some of the shelves and use it for storing other items. If it is too big to fit in your car, it can easily be dismantled by unscrewing the two screws at the end of each shelf, making it a compact stack of planks as shown in the second photo. It is reasonably easy to assemble (I've just done it) as I have numbered all the screw holes, so hole 1 on one shelf screws onto hole 1 on the end piece. Simples! 32 screws in all. Easier than following IKEA.instructions.

Old fashioned Austrian letter scales (Elmstead BR7)
Gifted
They will weigh letters up to 250g, with a second more accurate scale if the weight is hinged up of up to 50g. These were bought in Vienna in 1966. I used them weekly in Assab, Eritrea, for five years, for my weekly mailings, and similarly for two years in Suva, Fiji. It works, but for full disclosure: the scales do show clear signs of their age plus wear and tear. Most notably, the legs on the left hand side broke off when I dropped it on the floor in the 1960s. My older brother replaced them with an old tap from a shower, painted black, which does the job. The main pin the weight pivots from has at some point been replaced using a straightened paper clip. And the letter tray at the top is very tarnished. Being steel with a metal coating it cannot be polished to look like new.

Made in Sheffield. It has hardly ever been used, and polishes up well.

Free:
Two embroidered tray cloths (Elmstead BR7)
Gifted
About 47cm x 31cm. I think they are probably cotton and probably hand embroidered, but I am no expert. To be honest they are both slightly stained, probably from tea. I imagine it is almost impossible to avoid the odd drop of tea falling on a tray cloth, and almost impossible to remove the tea stains without damaging the embroidery.

Free:
M&S Edwardian Lady cachepot (plant pot holder) (Elmstead BR7)
Expired
As new. About 15cm across and 13cm high. A cachepot (from the French for "hide the pot") is a decorative outer container used to conceal an ordinary, functional plant pot. It acts as an aesthetic "overpot", allowing you to hide standard plastic or terracotta grow pots without needing to re-pot the plant directly. They typically lack drainage holes. This protects your tabletops, shelves, and furniture from water damage and soil spills. You can simply remove the inner plastic pot for watering, let it drain completely in the sink, and place it back inside the cachepot. Many plant owners place a layer of pebbles at the bottom of a cachepot to raise the plant slightly above any excess runoff, which helps increase humidity as the water evaporates.

6 seat rectangular patio set cover (Elmstead BR7)
Gifted
The cover comes in its own zip storage case, with a handle. It also comes with a "spider" to hold it in position when the wind blows. It has been used over a couple of winters but is still in good condition. Check the size carefully, as we found it too small for our patio set, and bought a larger one instead.

Free:
Brass oil lamp (Elmstead BR7)
Gifted
It's about 50cm tall, and has two wicks. It does not contain any oil, so it is safe to transport in your car. I have not tested it, but I imagine there is little to go wrong. One wick definitely can be raised. The other one is very stiff and I don't like to force it as I do not know what I am doing. I have not tried removing the filler cap.
