Colour-Change Bubble Lamp with Fish (Hendon, London NW4)
“Wicked Gizmos” 90cm Colour Changing LED Bubble Lamp with Fish and Bubbles - with five coloured plastic fish 90cm high, 9cm wide. You can see full descriptions on eBay where these are being sold. Lovely soothing bubble motion which gets the plastic fish “swimming” up and down in the water as the light changes colour. I got it for my son (he was turning 21 when I got it it for him) who’s autistic, and he likes it, but I love it. The lady who sold it to me had a 5-year-old son. It makes a constant motor-noise. If you contact me then I can send you a little video. It’s great for people who like white noise, and it’ll be horrible for people who don’t. The changing colours and the fish are really soothing. The water needs to be changed every so often, every week, or less if you treat it with something to deter the growth of algae, bacteria and fungi. Also it helps if you run it every so often, to oxygenate the water. This one was bought secondhand, but it’s working fine. I’m giving it away because we were given another light-box which my son preferred; I didn’t have the space for it; and it was a nuisance changing the water each week. But I was online looking for the instruction sheet, and my chatbot has found me lots of ways to keep the water fresh without changing it weekly - although I still prefer the simple way. As we enter summer, changing the water is no big deal for anyone who has a garden. It’ll be good to splosh some water on the garden every week in the summer months. In the winter one can use it to flush the loo. My chatbot also reckons that the central brown bit at the bottom, just a few mm in diameter, isn’t rusty but is supposed to be that colour. It’s the bit that sends bubbles out through the water. It does work fine. I’ve printed out a new home-made instruction sheet, for whomever takes this, because I lost the one that came wirh this. Also I’ve stuck a bag to the main cylinder, with the power cable and transformer and the bag containing five plastic fish whose tails wiggle side-to-side. This might be perfect as a novelty toy for a child who likes looking at changing lights and needs a bit of calming during the halfterm break when their routines are all out of sync. Please note that I don’t check messages on Friday evening or Saturday.

Unfinished softwood shelving (Hendon, London NW4)
Gifted
Approximately 120cm high, 80cm wide, 25cm deep. I’ve done a close-up photo so you can see how the shelves are secured with Phillips-head screws. Someone dumped this in front of my house. I’d be happy if someone who wants it would come and get it. If you send me a message I’ll go out and check, for you, whether it’s still there. It’s on the pavement across the road from Edinburgh House NW4 1TL

Himalayan salt lamp, outer part (Hendon, London NW4)
Expired
This got dumped outside my front entrance. It’s been in the rain, but it should dry out fine. It’s pink Himalayan salt with a wooden base which has grooves to admit a stand or a cable. There are two clips for clipping it in to a stand - but no stand nor electrical components. I believe one can buy little lights that sit inside the cylindrical space in the middle. Robert Dyas sells these as a complete working unit.

Tough strong metal dog crate M/L (Hendon, London NW4)
Gifted
This crate is 36 inches long, twenty-five inches wide, 27 inches high. It has a door at the end and also one on the side. Harvey Wire was bought by MTM, and you can still find the listing on Wordpress if you search online dog crate mtm wordpress. UK-made steel, nearly eleven years old. This crate was bought for my golden retriever and demoted to a holidays-only crate when she got bigger. Now we don’t have a car, so we can’t take it on holiday and don’t use it. It comes with a plastic base tray. Our dog now lives in the next-size-up MTM crate (usually with the door open) with junk piled high on top of the crate. It’s pretty robust, rather heavy.

Folding wheelchair (needs service) (Hendon, London NW4)
Gifted
We’ve had this for ten years at least. It doesn’t run very easily, and the tyres must have a slow leak, because they do stay pumped up but not for very long. It’s a regular standard folding wheelchair for an adult. Not a very large adult.

Vintage school trunk (Hendon, London NW4)

Navy blue, now rather faded - about fifty-five years old. 35cm high; 53cm deep including catches; 90cm long. Lock has been ripped off but there are catches to keep it closed. All the metal is rusty. People have upcycled similar trunks to make an ottoman-style seat.

This IKEA shelving unit is made of solid softwood. It’s about two metres long when set up. It’s about 170cm high and about 50cm deep. It’s now been partially disassembled, so it’s half the width. It’s shabby and old but pretty robust. I’m giving away the trunk too and listing it separately.

IKEA Kallax shelving unit, shabby (Hendon, London NW4)
Gifted
I’m giving away this IKEA unit mostly because it’s too big for our narrow hallway. Originally I salvaged it from the street. So it is shabby. It’s 147cm by 77cm by 39cm. You can see some of the marks. I masked some of them by sticking pictures on them. I have not yet taken it to bits but plan to do so later this evening, for easy transport, but if anyone responds quickly and really wants it as it is then I can let you have it as seen. But I will have to store it outside, covered with a plastic sheet for protection from damp, so it will probably deteriorate if it isn’t collected soon. It looks a bit like this. This is what it looked like when it was new. I’m not sure what is its official colour. Here are details of load and so on. / Collection by arrangement.

“Winter Fuel Payment” high-vis vest (Hendon, London NW4)

This is in excellent condition. My son gave it to me. I don’t particularly want to advertise that cause, routinely, for various reasons. But I know someone else might love to. I’ve worn it a couple of time while walking the dog. It really makes the wearer more visible during these dark evenings.

Three sprigs of fresh myrtle (Hendon, London NW4)

My husband is giving a presentation in mid-September during which he will need three sprigs of myrtle each maybe 40cm long. Is there anyone within cycling distance of Hendon who has myrtle growing in their garden and can spare some for him?

Rustic poles(4) about 7 feet long (Hendon, London NW4)
Expired
These are natural wood, light colour, and three of them have some short natural-wood struts fixed to them with metal screws. These will be useful to build a temporary or permanent garden structure. I saw them as I was passing by entering Windsor Open Space from Waverley Grove. I recommend you fetch them before they get rained on or soiled by animals.

Reed matting with metal clasp (Hendon, London NW4)
Gifted
I saw this dumped by our bins. It’s rolled-up reed matting. It will be perfect (perhaps with a bit of adaption - you might cut the metal off) to go on the roof of a sukkah: the Jewish festival of Sukkot starts around 17 October. Please feel free to contact me to check whether it’s still there.

Chest of drawers. Needs repair (Hendon, London NW4)
Gifted
Solid wood (softwood) chest of three drawers. About 80cm high, 80 cm wide, 40cm deep. I saw this dumped outside my home. It’s beautiful but falling to bits. If anyone has a talent for fixing things I suggest they come quickly while it isn’t yet raining. Out by the bins on Tenterden Grove, corner with Parson Street NW4 1TN. Send me a message if you want to check it’s still there.
