Request: Old computers (Heybridge CM9) Got a new computer for Christmas? I'd be glad to take your old machine to refurbish, update and offer free back on here. Please put the word around and let me know if you can help. Over 20 PCs rehomed in the last 3 months, some of the machines I've gifted recently in the photos.

Free: Complete PC System (Heybridge CM9) PC, monitor, keyboard, mouse, very quiet, refurbed for new owner. Not the latest or the fastest, so not capable of running modern Windows, but works just fine on an Operating System called Linux Lite. This is a completely free OS, which looks and feels pretty much like Windows, but is much less resource hungry. It includes a whole load of software and lots of help and support built in. Also masses of software available online. May struggle with heavy multi-tasking, but absolutely fine for everyday computing tasks - Office, Internet, Emails, Multimedia etc.

Free: Windows 11 PC (Heybridge CM9) Gifted Lenovo Small Form Factor PC, with or without monitor, keyboard & mouse. Not the latest, but running well on a slightly trimmed-down version of Windows 11, with all updates. A perfectly capable machine for everyday computing tasks - Internet, streaming, Emails, Office etc. LibreOffice Suite & VLC Media Player for videos, DVDs, music. In good, clean condition, though the monitor has some minor cosmetic damage. I'm expecting this to be popular, so please only request if you really need it and will make full use of it.

Free: Samsung Tablet (Heybridge CM9) Gifted Samsung Tab2 10.1" Tablet, not collected despite promises! Reset to factory settings, ready for a new user, with charging lead. This is a pretty old tablet, so may not run some apps satisfactorily. Still could be quite useful. First come, first served this time!!

Request: Computer equipment (Heybridge CM9) Wanted - any old computer equipment for refurb, update & re-offer for free - PCs, laptops, monitors, components. Even with quite old machines, the chances are that I can refurbish and upgrade to make a usable device, perfectly capable of basic everyday tasks - internet, emails, Office etc. - that I can then re-gift back for free to someone who has a need. I've been doing this for a while, finding homes for old equipment from friends and family. I've re-furbed and re-gifted 3 laptops, 14 desktops, 3 tablets and various other bits since requesting on here, with more stuff in the pipeline. Any offers greatly appreciated, keep them coming! Roy

Too old to run latest Windows, installed with Linux Lite, a less resource-hungry operating system, which runs really fast. A completely free comprehensive OS, with loads of software included - Office Suite, Web Browser, Media Player, Image Manipulation etc. etc. Also loads of free software available on line. A great machine for everyday computing tasks - word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, web browsing, streaming....... Looks and feels pretty much like Windows and also got loads of guidance and support built-in to help you get comfortable with Linux.

Free: Apple Macbook (Heybridge CM9) Gifted Apple 13" Macbook, a few years old, but running really well on Linux Lite Operating Syatem. As its name suggests, it's a lightweight system, requiring far fewer resources than modern Windows, but giving really good perfomance on older machines. It includes a whole lot of useful software (see photo), making it an excellent machine for everyday computer tasks - Office, Internet, Youtube, Emails, Music, Videos etc. It looks and feels pretty much like Windows. It has Wifi, a load of help and advice built in and there is lots of free software available online. It has good battery life and comes with a charger Altogether a lovely little machine. Any questions - just ask!

Free: 8-port Gigabit switch (Heybridge CM9) Gifted I have several of these - Netgear GS108 8-port Gigabit Switch. Ideal if you want to set up a home Ethernet network - faster than Wifi. I've also got lots of Ethernet cables if you need some.

Free: Windows 11 PC (Heybridge CM9) Gifted It's big, it's heavy and it's a few years old. But, despite being officially incompatible, it's running Windows 11 just fine, good speed, good graphics. Good spec., plenty of RAM, SSD system drive, HDD data drive, dedicated graphics card and Wifi. If you have an old Windows 10 machine, you're OK with keeping your monitor etc. and are willing to swap, I can offer the base unit only - let me know what you've got. I can then refurb and upgrade your old machine and re-offer it for free. Alternatively, if you're in need of a complete setup, I can offer the machine with monitor, keyboard and mouse. I'm getting huge numbers of requests for the PCs I'm offering, so please only request if you really need.

Free: Asus All-in-One PC (Heybridge CM9) Gifted This one's a real gem, so please only request it if you really need it and are going to make full use of it. Thanks to Jeff for the donation. AsusPro 21.5" Touchscreen All-in-One PC. Fresh install of Windows 10, LibreOffice Suite, VLC Media Player and Avast Anti-Virus. It's in immaculate condition, good spec and runs really quickly, great for Internet, Emails, Music, Videos, Office use etc. Its only minus point is that it won't run Windows 11, but with the Avast AV will run securely on Windows 10
