Free: SoundLAB wired headphones, unused. (Top Amersham HP6) Promised Connected for test only. Not the best sound quality, but OK for casual use or as spare/backup. Standard 3.5mm stereo jack connection (will fit phone, laptop etc.). In original (slightly damaged) box. Collect from top Amersham.

Free: Folding seat 'walking stick' aid. (Top Amersham HP6) Gifted Essentially a basic lightweight folding stool that doubles as a walking stick of sorts. Handy if you have problems standing for extended periods, so useful for spectating, general outings etc. Height of all three legs can be adjusted (make sure they all end up at the same length if you do this). Happy to report that I no longer need it, but it's in excellent condition (the bronze colouring on the metal looks like rust but isn't!) so hopefully someone else can use it. Two things to note: 1. With this design, the handle goes at the front when you sit on it, otherwise it won't be stable - you tuck it between your legs like a hobby-horse! See pics of a helpful gentleman demonstrating this. 2. There is a slight knack to using this properly, so taker to ascertain safety and suitability for the intended user. Collect from top Amersham.

Free: 4x humidifiers (radiator hanging) (Top Amersham HP6) Gifted Simple but effective - no heating elements, USB connections or moving parts - just long pots that you fill with water and hang from radiators with the supplied hooks to add moisture back to the air; top up as required (you could perhaps add some sort of room scent if you wished). I used them when my desk was too near a radiator and they helped a lot, but people often use them on landing or bedroom rads - helps avoid 'morning throat'. Use one or two per rad as you wish. Each is about 8"/20cm. Made from glazed pottery (bear this in mind if you have small children around). Fairly neutral floral designs on each; in good nick with no chips or cracks. I'll provide them wrapped in Jiffy bags. Collect from top Amersham.

Free: Approx. 40 classic rock/prog CDs. (Top Amersham HP6) Gifted Sort of aged-(grand)parent-rock with a slight prog bent, I suppose - Yes/Wakeman/Anderson, Hawkwind, Velvets, Iggy, Who/Townsend, Santana and various other artists. These are 'bin ends' from a professional reference library and are almost all in wallets rather than cases. Boxed sets may be incomplete and most will be missing some or all of their printed inserts but discs themselves are all in excellent condition and all very listenable. Sorry about the slightly fuzzy photo. Collect from top Amersham.

Free: Bush MTT1 small footprint vinyl record turntable. (Top Amersham HP6) Gifted Snazzy Pharcyde mat that's white on the reverse if preferred! Slightly dusty and a few small scuffs on the lid, but otherwise good. Not tested recently - could probably benefit from a new stylus (very cheap on eBay). NB This is a turntable, not a record player, so it makes no sound by itself - you'll need to connect it to an amplifier or powered speakers. Switchable pre-amp (underneath) if you want to connect it to a phono input on an amp. Collect from top Amersham.

Free: Bass guitar bag, standard scale length. (Top Amersham HP6) Gifted Heavy-duty neoprene or similar, soft fabric lining, mid-grey colour, zip closure at end, fixed handle (but no shoulder strap and nowhere to attach one). This is for a full-size 34" scale length bass, but a short-scale or even a standard electric guitar could live in it if you don't mind the unused neck space. A few minor marks, but overall it's better than it looks in the photo. Clean and usable as is, but it'll happily endure a short 30 degree machine wash (don't tumble dry it!) if you'd like it factory-fresh. Ideal if you own an uncased bass, or as a bag for a backup instrument. Looks as though it'll fit most standard designs (maybe not a Rickenbacker). Collect from top Amersham.

Free: Classic (?) IKEA TV/audio/whatever unit, beech finish. (Top Amersham HP6) Withdrawn Size is 36cm high, 60cm wide, top 45cm deep, base 56cm deep. Bought in the days of CRT TVs! Originally a flatpack, but substantial and robust (held together with Allen bolts) with chunky feet. Could be used for its intended purpose, or for audio gear (maybe to hold a record player in a bedroom, with vinyl stashed underneath) or as a side table for a sofa, or whatever you can think of. Generally excellent condition apart from two small screw marks at the back of the bottom shelf where I'd fitted a mains plug board - not visible in use. Collect from top Amersham.

Free: Approx. 20 CDs of improvised music (Bailey, Parker etc.) (Top Amersham HP6) Expired Fairly niche, but if there happens to be someone nearby who likes free improvised music, this is stuff you'll like! Artists include Derek Bailey, Evan Parker, John Stevens and plenty more of the usual suspects. These are standard retail items but are professional reference library 'bin-ends': most (or all, I forget) are in wallets rather than cases, booklet notes/packaging may be incomplete, box sets may be short of a disc etc. but all very listenable and a chance to get more value out of your nice CD player in these days of streams and downloads! I also have some not unrelated modern jazz CDs to pass on (see other listing) if your taste also runs to that. To go as one 'lucky bag ' lot pls.

Free: Approx. 40 modern jazz CDs. (Top Amersham HP6) Gifted All good stuff; lots of must-have albums. Artists include Ayler, Carla Bley, Gary Burton, Ornette, Coltrane, Don Cherry, Hubbard, Miles, Mingus, Sun Ra etc. etc. (pics show some examples only - there's more in the box!). Includes a few spare unused trade samples but most are standard retail items. Free: Approx. 25 miscellaneous dance music CDs. (Top Amersham HP6) Gifted The good news: a nice mixture across many years and different genres from house to hip-hop, including tracks/mixes from the likes of Laurent Garnier, Swedish House Mafia etc. All good for a ravey party, or chop them up for your own mixes. The bad news (actually not that bad): these are 'bin ends' from a professional reference library, mostly comprising incomplete boxed sets, spare trade samples and magazine cover mounts from DJ mag, Mixmag etc. They are in wallets or cardboard sleeves rather than library cases. Many have track listings and booklet notes that are incomplete or missing altogether. On the other hand, you get at least 30 hours of good tunes and there may be a few more CDs added by the time you collect (top Amersham). Offered as a single lot.

Free: 2x inline light dimmers, unused. (Top Amersham HP6) Expired These aren't very expensive, but maybe someone can use them to save them from recycling. For splicing into mains cable on table lamps (dimmable bedside lamps are quite nice to have - particularly recommended for new parents!). Please note that this type needs to have the wire soldered rather than screwed into place - you break into the live (brown) wire and solder an end into each hole on the board (easy to see on the unit). More secure than screw terminals, but you need to be able to do this or know someone who can. New and unused (left over from a project). One shown assembled, one not: AA battery for scale. Collect from top Amersham.

Free: Six assorted PCMCIA laptop cards. (Top Amersham HP6) Expired Two network cards, a four port USB 2.00 cardbus (allowed upgrading from earlier version of USB as well as acting as a hub), a Compact Flash adapter card and a couple of Sound Blaster Audigy 24 bit soundcards with one set (only - sorry) of cables and software for the latter. These soundcards are listed for high prices on eBay, but no-one ever seems to buy them these days, so... Possibly of interest to someone who likes working on/tinkering with vintage laptops? To go as one lot, please, Collect from top Amersham.

Free: Compact vinyl turntable (2 (Top Amersham HP6) Gifted The good news: I have *two* of these Bush MTT1 small-footprint turntables to re-home (12" discs just poke out slightly through two slots in the lid - ingenious). Decent cartridge; built-in pre-amp (switch on underside of unit) so connectable to a line input, powered speakers etc. if you obtain a suitable lead. Good clean condition with snazzy retrofit red mains cable. This model was raved about by What Hi-Fi? magazine when it first came out (in the late 90s!). Not tested lately but 100% fine when last used. The bad news: none. No real point in you owning both examples (you can't DJ with them!) but perhaps you'd like one of them. Collect from top Amersham.

Free: Crosley Revolution portable record player. (Top Amersham HP6) Gifted The good news: tested and working; earphones in compartment on underside. The bad news: usable as is but could be improved by upgrading to a BP2ATC cartridge (ten quid on Amazon - search on the model number) and maybe using a record clamp. No internal speaker, so headphones/earphones (I'd try some that are better than the supplied ones) or powered external speakers needed. Base could do with removing and reattaching properly (easy screwdriver job). No paperwork, USB cable or software for copying vinyl to computer included - just download the latest version of Audacity (/) if you want to do that (it's free). Runs on 4xAA batteries or suitable mains adapter; neither supplied. Manual here: Album not included! Collect from top Amersham. Please note that no-shows will forfeit the item to another recipient.

Free: iPod Classic (2008) A1238 120GB Silver. (Top Amersham HP6) Gifted (Sorry about the murky photo - camera issues...) The good news: see title! Comes in original box with leather case; has had a factory reset. The bad news (maybe not too bad): no charging cable (I used one from another device to test it and don't have a spare, sorry - easily bought); no paperwork or anything else. Lights up and all menus seem to work, but as I no longer have iTunes installed I can't test if it syncs properly - no obvious reason why it shouldn't. Battery charges as it should but I have no idea how long it currently holds a charge. I've had this around for a while and not used it for years, so if someone would like it (it's now pretty much a retro statement!) it's all yours. Collect from top Amersham.

Free: Kilner clip-top jar seals, unused. (Top Amersham HP6) Gifted New pack of six - expand the pic to see size info. Wrong type for our jars - never got around to returning them. They aren't expensive, but we'd rather not throw them away if someone can use them. Collect from top Amersham.

Free: Pair of Ross condenser microphones. (Top Amersham HP6) Gifted Of a certain vintage, but worked well when last used and in very good clean condition (not tested recently, but not much to go wrong with them). Good build quality (made in Japan). Two Ross RE-377s in original case; take standard XLR mic cables and each needs a single AA battery. Good build quality (made in Japan); I used them for recording rather than live work. Anyone into home recording/sound engineering who could use them? Collect from top Amersham.

Free: Compact record & tape player; built-in speakers, VGC. (Top Amersham HP6) Gifted The good news: seems unused (just used for a photoshoot if memory serves); built-in stereo amp and speakers; has USB port for copying discs/cassettes to computer (if anyone still does that); neat little unit with small footprint. The bad news: cheap ceramic cartridge which you might want to upgrade (£4-£8 from Amazon - I can advise); no headphone or line output & no Bluetooth; cassette player is quite crude - stuff the tape in and it plays, eject it and it stops! No paperwork or software, but that would just have been Audacity, which is a free download - you could in fact use headphones via a laptop running Audacity if you wanted. Queries welcome. Collect from top Amersham.

Free: Another pair of DJ turntables (needing TLC and spares!). (Top Amersham HP6) Gifted Quite a bit of interest last time I posted a pair of DJ turntables, so I've dug these out also. Anyone still interested from last time is welcome to remind me, but you'll need to bear in mind that there's no mixer with these, so it's not a complete setup and won't do much as it is. So, the good news: a pair of classic (?!) Gemini XL 400 II turntables, originally intended for beginners (belt drive and designed to look like Technics SL-1200s!) but much more substantially built than current equivalents. The bad news: untested (you can do that! Should be OK); they need a good clean-up; they need some spares (see below); cracked lids with missing hinges & damaged feet that you may want to replace or remove. Cartridges included are 1 x Stanton and 1 x... something else, needing new styli or just replacing in their entirety (just shop around for a pair of Groove Tools or similar). Both need mains leads (standard kettle type); no other leads, cables or accessories included. Should do the job well once fixed up. Collect from top Amersham.

Free: DJ turntables & mixer setup. Needs styli & TLC! (Top Amersham HP6) Gifted The good news: two Ion decks and a mixer, of basic quality (belt driven, so not ideal for scratching) but maybe good for a beginner or for a digital DJ who'd like to try beatmatching vinyl. One deck has a slot for an iPod, if anyone still uses one. Mixer switchable from phono to line and has classic kill switches for highs, mids and lows. The bad news: both Groove Tool cartridges need a new stylus at £25 for two on eBay, so you'll need to budget for those. Two fader paddles are missing, so you may want to replace them (the faders are usable without them). Other than that, all these items need a serious clean and maybe some paint touch-ups. They haven't been used for a long time, but worked fine previously; all the lights come on, but I don't have time to test the setup properly, so the recipient can do that. : ) I'd like to see this stuff go so someone who'll use it rather than to a boot sale, so be convincing! Collect from top Amersham.

Free: Goodmans vinyl turntable with Altai pre-amp. (Top Amersham HP6) Gifted Lots of interest when I last posted a turntable. I mentioned that I may have others - here's one. Semi-auto action, decent Audio-Technica cartridge and an aluminium rather than a plastic platter. Very slight crack to lid, otherwise good (the Sellotape's just there for transit purposes). It comes with an Altai pre-amp (needs a standard 9v battery, installed by unscrewing the bottom - lasts for ages), so you can plug it into a line input or directly into powered speakers etc. with a suitable lead. Worked fine when last used - TT seems to be fine currently, but I don't have a battery handy to test the pre-amp - not much to go wrong with it, so should be OK. I've kept a note of those who expressed interest last time but that was a while ago so I don't know who's still after one; if you'd like this one you'll get priority, but there's a lot of you! Sorry in advance if you get disappointed a second time, but I may still have other examples to pass on, so bear with me. Collect from top Amersham.

Free: Full size vinyl turntable with optional phono pre-amp. (Top Amersham HP6) Gifted This is an Eclipse TT-430, which was a Richer Sounds own brand way back in the day. I happily used it for a while before buying something smaller (this is a very full-sized item) and slightly less basic, although this model with its aluminium platter and AT cartridge is probably better than most current equivalents. I can throw in the phono pre-amp shown if your amp lacks a phono input or if you want to use it with powered speakers (let me know whether or not you want it). Despite dating from the 90s it's in exceptional nick apart from some scratches on the cover which could be polished out or minimised with some Brasso and a rinse. Please note that it'll come to you with the belt and platter detached for safe transportation. It worked fine when it went into storage but I haven't got time to re-test it, so you can do that! Questions welcome. Collect from top Amersham.

Free: Handmade wooden toboggan (more decorative than functional!) (Top Amersham HP6) Expired This was made by my late father-in-law about 60 years ago. Its sentimental value has been overtaken by the fact that, sadly, it never really got used because it didn't really work (hence its good condition for its age) so it's just been stored in the garage for years. While I can't recommend it for actual tobogganing (it just sinks into the snow and stays there!) it might make an amusing shabby-chic ornament in the right setting (on the wall of a sports-themed pub or club?), or it could be repurposed as a pair of statementy wall shelves, or as a stand (inside or out) for a couple of plant pots, or dismantled and used as reclaimed wood for something else? It seems a shame to just use it as firewood. It measures 76x37x11cm approx. There's some evidence of woodworm which you might want to treat, but I'm pretty sure this predates the several decades that we've been keeping it and there's no sign of activity now, so it was probably treated at some earlier point. Free: Lot of 44 assorted classical CDs. (Top Amersham HP6) Gifted Includes sets of symphonies by Bruckner and Mozart, set of Haydn piano sonatas, works by Dukas, Mendelssohn, Monteverdi, Dowland etc. etc., so quite a mixture of forms and periods. All these discs are 'bin ends' from a professional reference library. They are 'faulty' insofar as sets may have one or more discs missing and some lack booklets and/or are presented in wallets rather than cases. While this means they'd probably have no cash value even to a charity, all are very playable and will help you make the most of your nice CD player in these days of streams and downloads! Collect from top Amersham.

Free: Sterisol brass/woodwind cleaning liquid, nearly full. (Top Amersham HP6) Gifted Any brass/wind players out there? I used about 10% of a new bottle of this on a sax I was cleaning up (the pic is a stock photo) and don't need the rest. Excellent for cleaning mouthpieces and pulling through/wiping down wind instruments in general (keep it off woodwind pads and reeds, though). Of any use to a wind band/brass band/orchestral or jazz player/student? Here's some helpful scaremongering!: ' Wind instrument musicians may be more at risk of chest infections than the general population - possibly linked to bacteria build-up within their instruments - according to new research presented at the British Thoracic Society (BTS) Winter Meeting today (Thursday 5th December 2019)'. : ) Collect from top Amersham.

Free: Assorted mylar drumheads, unused/barely used. (Top Amersham HP6) Expired 2x 12" white batter heads, 1x 14" clear snare side head, 1x 14" white batter head (the latter bears the Trixon logo, but has nothing to do with the vintage drum company of that name which was appropriated by a Far Eastern manufacturer). These are single-ply, fairly light standard generic heads, fine for general use or as spares or perhaps useful for school instruments. Have had very light use, if any - no dents or damage. Collect from top Amersham.

Free: Beginner's 4/4 violin bow (needs rehairing). (Top Amersham HP6) Expired This is an inexpensive full-size Chinese bow best suited to a beginner (or as an emergency spare for an experienced player at a considerable push, or for alternative use - bowed guitar or cymbals?!). Mechanically intact but was stored in poor conditions at full tension, so the hair has mostly snapped. May not be worth having professionally re-haired, but if you know how to do this or feel like teaching yourself with this as the victim, you can get cheap bowhair on eBay from China for less than £3. Any use to anyone?
Request: Walkman-type personal cassette player. (Top Amersham HP6) Expired I suddenly find I could use one of these old gadgets! Anyone got one lurking somewhere? Any brand is fine and cosmetic condition unimportant. Ideally a working example, but happy to collect any specimens that you can't test. Thanks!
Request: Old audio cassettes. (Top Amersham HP6) Received I'm trying to get hold of some examples of old audio cassettes - the ones shown are typical and probably date from the 70s or 80s. I realise that a lot of these will have long since gone to landfill, but if you've got a box of them in your garage that you keep meaning to dispose of, I'll gladly relieve you of them! I'm more than happy to collect small quantities or to take away an assortment and rummage through them for items I can use. I'm mainly interested in the graphics used and the variations in how they were manufactured, so the condition of the actual tape doesn't really matter (and any secrets about your tastes in music back then are safe with me!). Thanks!

Free: 10 assorted avant-world-jazz (!) CDs. (Top Amersham HP6) Gifted I couldn't think of a more concise way of describing these discs but I think they would all appeal to one particular kind of listener, so if you like this kind of thing, this is the kind of thing you might like. : ) Includes a couple of Sun Ra items, a couple from Idris Ackamoor, some samplers/collections from India and Nigeria, a couple of European things involving the likes of Mats Gustafson and Samuel Rohrer and similar. These are spare trade samples and are in wallets rather than cases, mostly without booklet notes (although some have documentation included which does much the same job). Fairly niche, but possibly of interest to someone? To go as one lot, please. Collect from top Amersham.
