Schreiber 3-piece wardrobe-bureau-vanity (Dalston E8)
This Schreiber wardrobe offers loads of useful storage. It comes in three sections: * two narrow wardrobes with bars to hang clothing, with swing-door storage compartments above; * and a center section, with four drawers; above which, a countertop and vanity mirror, with a light centered above the mirror; and a lift-door storage compartment at top. Each section is a separate piece; each is on small wheels. The materials are mid-tone wood-grain laminate over compressed fibreboard. The hanging rods are metal. The laminate has a few chips here and there; a small burn on the countertop; and some scratches around the upper-compartment knobs, from clothes hangers. One drawer guide needs to be glued back in. Overall, the unit is 51.5 cm deep (the shallower centre piece is 39 cm deep), by 138.5 cm wide, by 189.5 cm high. The two side pieces are each 38.6 cm wide; the bureau/vanity is 61 cm wide. (Further details on request.) It's all currently in a first floor bedroom.

Artesania Secchi ceramic creche scene to repair (Dalston E8)
Gifted
Figures are roughly 6 to 8 inches tall, and have been well-loved. They are somewhat battered. A little paint would touch up the adult figures nicely, but the cow and ass and especially the amputee baby Jesus could use more work. Still, Christmas is months away. Label on bottom says: 'Artesania "Secchi", Recuredo de Arequipa, Peru'

Hotpoint fridge freezer, for parts? (Dalston E8)
Hotpoint FFP187B tall fridge-freezer. Refrigerator door gasket is new last year. Fridge drawers and door compartments are in good condition; top two shelves are in good condition. Freezer isn't as cold as it should be. It might work okay with a new door gasket, but two of the four freezer drawers are in poor condition, and the tracks moulded into the sides of the freezer are beginning to crumble. The cooling mechanism might be fine, but like the good drawers and shelves, might do better in a sounder casing.

DIY: Mid-century style fuzzy lamps (Dalston E8)
Gifted
A pair of tall table lamps finished in shiny gold-tone metal and caramel fake fur. From the 1970s? Originally from the US, so they need rewiring with UK 'lamp sets'. Generally good condition, with a couple of small rust spots at base.

Tabletop Charcoal Grill (Dalston E8)
It's just about barbecue weather! Good condition. Somewhat rusty, but a soak and scrub with citric acid solution should fix that. Nuce design: Mesh top, so food doesn't fall through; beneath that, a second mesh for the coals, so they get proper ventilation; beneath that, a solid metal bottom, so sparkx don't fall through to your table. Size is roughly 18" by 10", with sturdy metal legs maybe 3 or 4 inches tall.

Sturdy coffee table with storage (Dalston E8)
Withdrawn
Midcentury octagonal coffee table with closed sides. Constructed of wood-trimmed plywood and formica. The coffee table is capacious: The tabletop, from flat side to flat side, is 26.5 inches across, and the table is 19.5 inches high. (So, about 67.5 cm wide by 49.5 cm high.) It also is very sturdy (it makes a good stepstool for reaching the tops of windows and wardrobes) and very heavy, both on account of the quantity of thick plywood used in its construction. Good condition except the dust I haven't yet removed and the door, which needs repair. (A project for the repair café?) The door was two sides of the octagon, but the vertical seam has come undone, where it was joined by dowels (and someone tried to fix it with just glue; not a win). The joint needs cleaning up then new dowels, clamps, glue — or, one could finish the raw edges, add a hinge to the door's disconnected half, and make the table a two-door unit.

Bayonet light fixture to hardwire (Dalston E8)
Withdrawn
Replace an old, paint-covered light with this paint-free, new-looking fixture. You'll need an electrician, as this is hard-wired. No switch on this fixture; instead, it works on a circuit controlled by a wall or pull-switch. Base of fixture says: Delta, (MEM), 5 M1212, Made in England. Screws and electrician not included. We've upgraded the light in our low-ceilinged loo to something lower-profile, so this is surplus.

Free:
2 denture soaking tubs, bonus Fixodent (Dalston E8)
Withdrawn
Fixodent is unopened but out of date. Denture tubs arewhote plastic; one has a blue lift-out tray. They are clean and disinfected. We don't need these, as our teeth are still original-issue.

Free:
Small mid-century lamp to rewire (Dalston E8)
Gifted
Very good condition except for the absence of wiring. Also could use a better wash, after decades down cellar. (Just gave it another rinse, so it's cleaner than shown. Two circular slabs of almost celadon-toned pale green lucite (I think), polished smooth on their tops and edges, are sandwiched between brass-look spindles (probably plastic, or they'd have corroded by now). Stack is screwed together. Height is about 7 inches; the bulb-ans-switch assembly will add another couple of inches. Great little project for a repair cafe! We have too many projects.

Free:
Brass-and-marble-look lamp to rewire (Dalston E8)
Gifted
Brass-tone cast metal with several sections of black stone-look material. Lamp is about 10" tall at present, maybe 4.5" square at the ornate base. Needs rewiring, including a new bulb-and-switch mechanism for the top, which I guess will bring lamp height to 14". The cord wants replacing, too. And you'll want a shade. Otherwise, what remains is in pretty good condition, if not our style.

A dozen placemats (Dalston E8)
Gifted
New. Print features two pink lilies, with green leaves, and the words Bon Appetit, all on a white background with a border of feen and black. Best used on a white tablecloth, as the nonwoven fabric is rather thin. The edges are stitched with pink thread. Would be sweet for a spring party.

Four brass-tone wall hooks (Dalston E8)
Gifted
Fair condition — each piece has two hooks, having lost their top hooks almost immediately after purchase, but has kept working for another 20 years of coats and totes and handbags and backpacks. Screws included. We're finally replacing them, but they're not dead yet. Great for a hallway, cellar, or shed.

Free:
2 cushioned chair pads (Dalston E8)
Gifted
Great condition. Cushion covers are 100% cotton, and reversible, with ribbon ties to attach them to your kitchen chairs. Each cushion cover has a discrete zip at the back, so the polyurethane pad inside can be removed before the cover is washed. Barely used. The cushions are still soft, the covers still look sharp.
