Compost tumbler -- 80 gallons (Hillcrest SE DC)
Gifted
Excellent, durable, easy-to-use compost tumbler. 80 gallons capacity -- it's huuuuuuuuuge! (Even the large orange turd could fit inside -- I did the calculations.) This tumbler rotates, so you can toss the compost around while it decomposes and ripens and what-not. On the side it also has a spring-loaded pull-pin, so you can hard-set the bin in various positions -- for loading, dumping out, etc. The top is secured by clamps when you want to keep it closed, and easily slides off when you want to dump everything out. You can see that there is some rust, but nothing impacting the stability or performance. This unit is really stable and does not move or slide around. Maybe if you have a lot of material inside and you go all crazy spinny on it like you're having a go at the big wheel on The Price is Right, yeah, it's going to wobble a bit. But otherwise it should be fine. I've used this tumbler for years and gotten lots of good compost out of it. I just don't need it anymore because my yard is healthy enough, and I have another option for compost now. But if you have a big yard with space to spare for this thing's footprint, or maybe you want to use it with your neighbors in a community garden, it might be for you. Dimensions: 36" deep 40" wide 48" high. This is a Lifetime tumbler that they don't sell anymore (their biggest is now a 50-gallon version) but you can find a great review of it at this website: / . Note: I am *NOT* going to disassemble this beast, so measure your hatchback's space to see if it'll fit, or bring a pick-up truck. Pick-up can be anytime. Oh -- and I *DID* clean it inside and out with soap and water. It's very clean but not totally clean -- there are still some tiny bits of old compost stuck in the innermost crevices inside the drum. But it doesn't smell and they're not falling out. But geez, you're getting a compost tumbler, so you shouldn't be afraid of a little dirt anyway! :D

Wheelbarrow -- old but good (Hillcrest SE DC)
Gifted
Great wheelbarrow that has served me well for many years. You can see that it's very rusty on the inside but there are no holes or thin spots. It still can transport heavy loads easily. The tire is not the original -- it's better! The old tire was air-filled and went flat all the dang time. This one is solid rubber, so it'll never go flat. The steel legs are just a bit wobbly, so don't fill this up and then try to balance it on unstable ground (like leaves or sand) -- it'll just fall over and you'll get mad and cry and jump up and down and curse the world. And just fair warning here -- the wood handles are still in tact, but if you leave this outdoors in the rain and wind and cold and snow, you'll probably have to replace them next year. Otherwise this is a great wheelbarrow, totally functional. Collection can be anytime.

DJ equipment stand ONLY (Hillcrest SE DC)
Gifted
Are you a budding DJ or know one who could use a sturdy stand to set up their equipment? Look no further! I mean, that's what this post is about. The picture is a reference only -- no equipment is included. I repeat: this post is for the stand ONLY and absolutely NO equipment. But by looking at the photo you can see that a mixer and two digital turntables can be attached -- those are the three things in the middle. On the right you can see an LP turntable attached, too. HOWEVER, I am not sure if the stand that I'm giving away has the attachment for the LP turntable. See, this one in the photo belongs to my husband. When he ordered it, they sent him a kit without the LP turntable attachment. He told the company and before they could respond, he got another LP turntable attachment. But then the company sent him a WHOLE NEW KIT, which obviously he didn't need. So that box has been sitting in our basement for the past, oh, fifteen years. We opened one end to take a look inside, but we never took anything out of it. So there's no telling if there's actually the LP turntable attachment inside or if they sent another kit without one. But hey, it's free, take your chances and you might be a big winner! lol You can collect whenever you want -- I'll set it out in the alley behind our house for you to pick up. But if you flake out and don't collect, I'll offer it to the next interested person (this has happened to me so many times on this site; if you say you'll be there at X time on X day, be there or be square).

Small side lamps, brass color -- but probably not actually brass. Anyway, they look nice. The one with the bulb in it works, the other one does not light up when a bulb is inserted but could be an easy rewiring fix.

Venice carnival mask (Hillcrest SE DC)
Gifted
A carnival mask from Venice in Italy. This is a genuine article, made in Venice, not a cheap knock-off. I bought this years ago when I visited as a sixteen-year-old but now that I'm much, much older, I just don't want it. It's been sitting my storage bins for years and years, but is still in excellent condition.

Christmas tree stand (Hillcrest SE DC)
Gifted
Vintage steel, or maybe aluminum, Christmas tree stand from the 70s. Used faithfully for many of the years since then until I got an artificial tree a couple years ago. But this thing still works quite well for real trees. It disassembles for easy storage, but putting it back together every year is a hassle, which is why I just always kept it put together.

Free:
Camping equipment (Hillcrest SE DC)
Gifted
Camping equipment, including a camping pillow (green bag), a dome-shaped two-man tent (the two gray bags), and an inflatable mattress (blue and black bags). The blue and black bags might actually contain some other piece of camping equipment -- I don't remember and don't feel like opening everything up. I got the tent as a hand-me-down from my folks years ago after they'd used it for years; but they gave me the other pieces new, and I've never used any of it.

This thing has been sitting in my basement since I got it because it's so big and I didn't have the space to put it anywhere. The rope part is in the sealed black package in the photo -- overlapping trash bags sealed with tape.
