Mortar dye, red (Levenshulme M12)

Red mortar dye. The tin originally contained 1 kg of powder and my estimate is that a little more than half remains in the tin.

It is a powder that is mixed into the mortar so that the mortar seams acquire a colour similar to that of red clay bricks. The final colour depends on the type of cement used, and how much dye powder was added. The process is simple enough but matching to existing colours can take some experimentation.

Please note, this is not a paint that you can brush or spray onto an existing wall. It is a powder that is used if you are building a new wall or repointing an existing wall. It is added to the cement / mortar powder before adding water and mixing.

Collection will be from Longsight, M12, not far from Crowcroft Park.
