Free: Metal shed (Market Rasen LN8) Withdrawn Presently erected. Will need to be dismantled. Floor area dimensions are approximately 11 foot by 4 foot, perhaps as large as 12'x5'. It is nothing special. It isn't air-tight or sealed. It is basically steel formed panels screwed to a rough wooden frame. It might find a use as a garden shed, for locking things away from inquisitive children. Whoever takes it will need the skills, tools and inclination to to dismantle it and then reassemble the parts into a useful state. The front is as high as the door, as per the picture. There is a bit of a slope of the roof towards the back, so the unseen rear is slightly lower than the front. Inside the shed is decrepit office chair and a manky painting. Neither are worth keeping but I have no way to get them to the tip, so I'd appreciate it if whoever takes the shed would take these to the tip also.

Free: Netgear DG834GT router (Levenshulme M12) Expired Netgear DG834GT router. Provides 100Mb/s switch, plus WiFi. I believe that the carton contains all of the original parts, and that everything is fully working. Password and username reset to default. Please note, these routers were designed for Internet connections provided via analogue telephone lines. if you've already upgraded to a "fibre" broadband connection then this isn't going to be any use to you as a router (i.e. it can't replace a damaged "fibre" router) but it can still be used as a 100Mb/s network switch, if you need such a thing. If you'd like to be considered, please provide a contact name and a contact telephone number. Collection will be from Longsight, M12, not far from Crowcroft Park. Convenient nearby bus routes include the 150, 192 and 197. Nearest train stations are Levenshulme and Ryder Brow.

Free: Octagonal empty tins (sweet tins) (Levenshulme M12) Expired Empty tins, formerly containing "Quality Street" sweets. Octagonal shape. Ideal opportunity to get a nice tin without the bother of eating all the sweets. There are two to be taken but if you only need/want one, that is also fine. Collection will be from Longsight M12, not far from Crowcroft Park. Nearby bus routes include 150, 192, 196. Please provide a contact name and a contact telephone number. Thank you.

Free: 2x colour-changing lamps (BC22 mount) (Levenshulme M12) Gifted Two colour-changing lamps. BC22 base (i.e. what is generally the standard for UK ceiling lamps). These are LED lamps with the ability to change colour. The colour change is accomplished via blue-tooth, using a mobile-phone app. They've barely been used; I experimented with them for an hour or two before deciding that they weren't suitable for the situation in which I wanted to use them. Presently they are set to be green, so at some point I must have worked-out how to change their colour but I no-longer have the "app" on my phone. As coloured lamps they are not very bright; more of a bed-room feature or party gimmick, or a back-light for a plant or ornament. The colour can be set across to the spectrum with some ability to mix the primary colours (red, green and blue) to obtain purple, cyan and colours approximating yellow or orange. They can also be set to white, and in that mode they are brighter than in any colour mode. The box contains the instruction leaflet that explains how to obtain the "app", and how to combine lamps into groups if you should wish to do that.

Free: cardboard boxes x4 (Levenshulme M12) Expired Cardboard boxes, perhaps of use when moving home. Four boxes, with sizes approximately as follows: 2x 450mm x 450mm x 450mm 1x 450mm x 450mm x 610mm, presently flat. 1x 300mm x 400mm x 500mm Given their sizes, I suggest that these would be suitable for less dense items such as clothes or bedclothes. They'd likely be too heavy to carry if filled with books or similarly high-density items. Collection from Longsight M12, not far from Crowcroft Park. Please provide a contact name and contact telephone number. Thank you.
Free: Mortar dye, red (Levenshulme M12) Expired Red mortar dye. The tin originally contained 1 kg of powder and my estimate is that a little more than half remains in the tin. It is a powder that is mixed into the mortar so that the mortar seams acqurie a similar colour as red bricks. The final colour depends on the type of cement used, and how much dye powder was added. The process is simple enough but matching to existing colours can take some experimentation. Please note, this is not a paint that you can brush or spray onto an existing wall. It is a powder that is used if you are building a new wall or repointing an existing wall. It is added to the cement / mortar powder before adding water and mixing. Collection will be from Longsight, M12, not far from Crowcroft Park. Please provide a name and contact telephone number. With a little advance agreement I can usually be very flexible about collection times.

Free: White, gloss paint. Volvox brand. (Levenshulme M12) Expired "Volvox" white gloss paint, in a 0.75 litre tin. Probably a little more than 20 years old but the tin shows no signs of having been opened and the paint inside sloshes around freely. At the very least however, it'll need a very thorough stirring before use. Collection will be from Longsight, M12, not far from Crowcroft Park. Please provide a name and contact telephone number. With a little advance agreement I can usually be very flexible about collection times.

Free: Roofing felt adhesive and primer (Levenshulme M12) Gifted 1x tin of felt primer (feels about half full). 1x tin of adhesive, opened (feels much more than half full). 2x tins of adhesive that appear to have never been opened. Exat age unknown. The two unopened tins of adhesive and the primer were probably bought in 2018 or 2017. The opened tin of adhesive is probably from about a decade earlier; 2007 or 2008. I haven't opened any tins to check the contents but based on my prior experience I'd expect the newer adhesive to still be very usable. Not so sure about the older one. The primer is most definitely liquid, and sloshes around in the tin. The adhesives have a bitumen like consistency; and are best used on warm days, and only when wearing clothes that you never want to wear again. Collection will be from Longsight M12, not far from Crowcroft Park. Please provide a name and contact number. With a bit of advance agreement, I'm fairly flexible on collection times.

Free: Shoe-Goo (shoe repair glue) (Levenshulme M12) Gifted Glue for repairing shoes and similar things. Please read on-line reviews (e.g. at Amazon), to be sure it is what you need before requesting it. There are two tubes but one of them is more empty than full, probably only about 10% left. The other is dented but is probably unopened. The second pictures shows the applicator, but a lollipop stick would work just as well. This stuff is very good, but it isn't magical and therefore success depends on the materials you are trying to bond, and how clean they are; for example, before trying to reaffix soles to shoes, you'd need to ensure that surfaces that need adhesive are well washed and well dried. If you don't do this, the repair might last only a few minutes. To get the glue to where it is needed, you'll want to use the applicator in the pack, or something like a lollipop stick. Collection will be from Longsight, M12, not far from Crowcroft Park. Please provide a name and contact telephone number. With a bit of advance agreement, I can usually be fairly flexible with collection times.

Free: 9x Cockroach sticky traps (Levenshulme M12) Gifted Only NINE remaining in what was a pack of twelve. These are sticky-traps, intneded to catch cockroaches. The sticky-surface has a covering that has to be peeled-off before deployment. There are some foil bait-packs but you could provide your own bait if you have an effective 'recipe'. They are supposed to be effective for a few days to a few weeks, and then thrown away. Dampness and dustiness or extreme dryness will shorten their effective life. They are the sort of size that could be placed on a shelf or kitchen counter-top, or underneath many furniture items. Collection will be from Longsight M12, not far from Crowcroft Park. Please provide a name and contact telephone number. With a little advance agreement, I can usually be quite flexible about collection times.

Free: Car battery, 40 AH (Levenshulme M12) Gifted The battery was still able to start the car just prior to it being removed. It was replaced as a precaution prior because its age was unknown. It has been out of a car for a little under three years but has been indoors at normal room temperatures ever since, and has been on trickle charge at about 13.4 volts for almost that entire time. When disconnected from the charger and providing power to a tiny electric motor the terminal voltage is initially about 12.5 volts. I wouldn't recommend it for use in a car that somebody is depending on, but it is probably still good for various kinds of experiments. Collection will be from Longsight, M12, not far from Crowcroft Park.

Request: Plasterboard off-cut (Levenshulme M12) Received I'm in need of a piece of plasterboard to repair a damaged patch of internal wall. The damaged area is approximately 14" x 19" (36cm x 48cm), and the existing plasterboard is approximately 10mm thick.
Free: Books about Object-Pascal, Delphi, Lazarus (Levenshulme M12) Gifted Five books, paperbacks, all on the theme of the computer programming languages of Object-Pascal and Delphi, and the Lazarus environment. They are in good condition. For the avoidance of doubt, these books are in the category of computer programming, and have nothing at all to do with Greek history, nor with the resurrection of Mary and Martha's friend. Collection will be from Longsight, M12, not far from Crowcroft Park. I generally arrange matters by telephone, so please provide a number.

Free: Window privacy film, 3 rolls of "frosted" (Levenshulme M12) Gifted Rolls of 'frosted' privacy film, each 60cm x 200cm. Boxed, unused, unopened. Initially I have three such rolls. This film has no pictures or patterns; it is simply "frosted". Amazon link: for the product you'd be collecting, with reviews from other customers: Collection from Longsight M12, not far from Crowcroft Park. Convenient bus routes include the 150, 192, 196. If you are interested in this item please note the following: (a) Generally I prefer to speak with people, rather than use email, so please leave your name and phone-number. (b) Let me know if you would like 1, 2 or 3 rolls. Notes about the film. Please read to be sure it is suitable for your needs. During the day-time, when the outside is much brighter than the inside, this film should completely obscure the inside from outside gaze. When the outside is dark, and the inside is well-lit, a person looking in will not see clear details but will be able to form an impression of anything close to the window, and of any movement in the room. The inside-facing surface is slightly textured. Putting the film onto a window is harder than the sales patter would have you believe, but it can be done. There are instructions with each roll, but they don't fully express the reality of the struggle. Basically you'll need to be able to do the following: 1. Cut the film to the right size. It has to be completely flush to smooth glass; any overlap to the frame, or any surface defects on the glass will cause the film to peel away fairly quickly. Having some method of cutting a very straight line would would be a good idea (unless your window is curved). 2. Make the window -- both glass and surrounding frame -- dust free and grease free, so that you don't transfer dust or grease onto the film later, in the messy awkward phase of installation. 3. Make the film dust free, because it almost certain collected some while you were cutting it. 4. Put wet film onto wet glass and get it aligned, without getting dust onto it in the process. More than one person is very helpful. Even having a couple of children to hold corners of the film and stop it flapping around while you, the clever and responsible adult, balance precariously on a ladder, will probably be useful. You can't easily slide the film into the correct location; you need to start at one edge and have it aligned before it touches the glass. 5. Get the air bubbles out from under the film. Ideally one person would hold the top edge to keep the film from falling into a heap on the floor, and somebody with intelligence and a good rub technique would gently bring the film into contact with the glass, ensuring that no air gets trapped in the first place. If you've got lots of hands available, I'd suggest starting at the bottom and working upwards. If you're doing this on your own, you'll probably have to start at the top and work to the bottom. It can be put up by one person; I have done this previously, but it would have been much simpler with two or three people.

Free: Hormone rooting powder, for plant cuttings (Levenshulme M12) Gifted For the enthusiastic gardener who is creating plants from cuttings, this stuff is supposed to help cuttings of roots, stems and leaves to develop roots. It is a few years old; I have no idea if it degrades with time. At least 75% of the original contents remains in the tub. Collection from Longsight M12, not far from Crowcroft Park. Please provide a phone number.

Free: Yellow sulphur powder (Levenshulme M12) Gifted Vitox brand, yellow sulphur powder, for use by the keen gardener. Sulphur powder is often used as a fungicide, for topical application to specific problems. It is not a fertilizer, and it is not something you'd throw around liberally. The container has been opened but very little has been used. My guess is that at least 80% of the original contents is still in the bottle. Collection from Longsight M12, not far from Crowcroft Park. Please provide a phone number.

Request: dictation machine / voice recorder (Levenshulme M12) Expired I'd like to obtain some voice-recorder / dictation machines ... hand-held and battery-powered rather than the large desktop machines that plug into a wall socket. Also, it needs to be 'digital' rather than one of the 'cassette tape' ones that I believe used to exist many years ago. My intention is to capture the thoughts that pop-into my head while I'm out and about, walking, and my hope is that voice recording will be prove to be better than scribbling in a notepad. If I happen to be be given one that turns-out to be unsuitable for my needs, I shall be happy to re-freegle it or to donate it to a charity shop.
Free: Map of United Kingdom (Levenshulme M12) Gifted Good condition. 59cm wide and 84cm tall. Dated 2017. It will be supplied rolled-up in its protective tube, which means you'll need to flatten it out again. Please see the pictures to understand what the map does and doesn't show. It does show: - Counties - Cities, and larger towns - Terrain (significant hill ranges) It does not show roads, railways or rivers. Collection will be from Longsight, M12. Not far from Crowcroft Park.
Free: plastic wall-tub planters, black (Levenshulme M12) Gifted Wall mounted, quarter-spherical, plant tubs. Each with an aluminium bracket. About nine or ten years old, all in decent and usable condition. Their design is pretty good: they can retain water in the base, and with a suitable choice of plant and growing conditions they can look fabulous through the summer. Internal width is about 18 inches, external width about 20 inches. If you are growing things like Petunias you'll need about 3ft (1 metre) of wall length per tub, to allow for the plant spread, so please keep that in mind when deciding how many you'll need. All five contain compost but this has been in them for over a year and will need to be replaced or nourished with fertilizer. Collection will be from Longsight, M12, not far from Crowcroft Park.
Free: Plant container assortment, plastic (Levenshulme M12) Gifted Eight plant containers, all plastic. 2x rectangular, deeper than usual. 2x buckets. These contain compost/soil and if left unmolested through the summer you are likely to find Alyssum and Salvia blooming before the year's end. They also contain Lilies, but the Lily plants are a few years old and are very unlikely to do anything impressive; they might not even be able to flower any more. 3x pots, large enough for shrubs and ugly enough to need trailing plants to hide them. Basic green plastic. Presently empty. 1x fake (plastic) 'barrel bottom' pot, also large enough for a shrub. More attractive than most containers. Presently empty. Collection from Longsight M12, not far from Crowcroft Park.
