Powered 7-port USB 3.0 hub (Sawbridgeworth CM21)
Promised
A 7-port, individually switched, USB 3.0 hub with a UK mains power plug. Designed to make it easy to run several external accessories from your laptop or PC. I bought this to use on my home PC setup, but I use Linux as an OS (rather than Windows or MAC) and it doesn't seem to be able to run all the devices I need it to, for some reason. Obviously I need it to run 100% of the accessories 100% of the time, but you may have more luck. If you respond to this item, please check your Junk/Spam folder regularly as replies often end up in there. I will only deal with good communicators. PLEASE SEND ME YOUR MOBILE NUMBER SO WE CAN ARRANGE COLLECTION EASIER.

FINAL POST Nuisance call blocker (Sawbridgeworth CM21)
Expired
TM-PA009A Call Blocker. Loads of functions. NB this needs the caller ID service to be switched on on your landline to work (which is normally the default setting anyway). Working perfectly the last we used it before we ditched the Virgin Media landline. We are having a major loft clear-out and this is one of the things I would rather went to a good home. Complete set of equipment in the box including the user manual. If you contact me about taking this item, please check your Spam/Junk folder regularly as I will only deal with people who respond promptly.

Gifted
Aluminium porringer, or bain marie saucepan, by Swift made by Salt & Dukes Ltd, Birmingham. This has been in the family for years but we've just upgraded recently. Use for making sauces, porridge or for melting chocolate for cooking. Please check your Junk/Spam folder regularly if you respond to this item as replies often end up there, and I will only deal with good communicators. Can arrange to leave in the porch for you to collect if I'm not going to be in. Please give me your phone number so we can arrange collection by text/call.

Porringer (aka bain marie saucepan) (Sawbridgeworth CM21)
Gifted
16" Kitchen Craft 18/10 stainless steel porringer (or bain marie saucepan) with a non-stick surface on the upper pan, and a glass lid. It is used for things like making sauces, melting chocolate, or making porridge. It has made excellent porridge for me for several years now, and the non-stick coating is a bit tarnished (see photo) but is still non-stick. I've never been brave enough to give it a good scouring in case I strip off the non-stick coating as well, but it does a great job anyway. The seal on the lid is a little bit wonky where I put it down on a gas ring that was still too hot, but it doesn't affect the performance. The lid and bottom pan can be used as an extra ordinary saucepan. Please check your Spam/Junk folder regularly if you respond to this item as replies often end up there. I will only deal with good communicators. A porch collection can be arranged if I am not in, but I would appreciate a quick message to confirm you've collected it. Send your number to arrange collection.

Acer Aspire 5633WLMi Laptop & case (Sawbridgeworth CM21)
Gifted
Mature and robust Acer 5633WLMi laptop and case on offer. The battery was replaced last year, but, due to the age of the technology, it probably only lasts around 90 minutes on a full charge. Intel Core 2 Duo processor T5500, 15.4" WXGA Crystalbrite LCD monitor, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950, 120GB HDD, DVD-Super Multi double layer drive, 1GB DDR2 RAM, 802.11 a/b/g built in wifi, 1.3MP camera (I know, that's pathetic by modern standards, but it's still a camera!). It originally came with Windows XP loaded but that became obsolete some time ago. I have just installed antiX Linux which is completely FREE. If you know Linux, you'll also know that it comes with a stack of software packages that integrate with the Windows versions, e.g. a full Office suite of apps, internet and email browser apps, video/audio/graphic management apps etc. etc. - again ALL FREE. Linux is also generally completely virus free, so you won't have to mess about with virus checkers. There is an FAQ icon on the home screen which gives you loads of information about how to maximise your use of the antiX OS. Because of the Linux OS, this needs to be taken on by someone who is either already comfortable with working in a Linux environment or is prepared to commit to investing the time to work it out. (I've been a Linux user for almost 20 years without the inevitable Windows upgrade costs, and don't regret it a bit). If you would like this item, please convince me you are the right person to take it off my hands. It would suit a household with no other hardware apart from mobiles who need something more chunky for studies, for example. If you just say "is it still available?", I'm afraid I'll ignore you. Please check your Spam/Junk folder regularly if you message me about this as replies often end up there. I will deal only with people who communicate promptly.

The Charlie Muffin Thriller series (Sawbridgeworth CM21)
I got to reading this series after the author's death last year - they are brilliant fun! Brian Freemantle has created a much loved character, but the Herts Libraries e-books run out at book 6. There is a strong growth in people wanting to read them as seen by the way the e-books are being consecutively booked out. I would love to read books 7-16 (!) but can't find them anywhere. (HCC have agreed to look for the e-books, but I'm not optimistic). If anyone has them lying around on their bookshelves, I'd love to have them.

Free:
Stackable CD racks (Sawbridgeworth CM21)
Withdrawn
16 in total flexible, stackable CD racks/boxes which can be put together in whatever combination or shape you require. Can also be hung on the wall by the standard keyhole in the back of each rack - see photo. Ideally, I'd like someone to take the whole lot as it took me ages getting them into the shape they are now!. If you respond to this item, please check your Junk/Spam folders regularly as replies often end up there. I will only deal with good communicators.

Unbranded USB HD webcam with built-in microphone. I bought it in the last 12 months and it used to work fine on my Linux OS based PC but stopped for some unknown reason - probably a Linux update! Velux window blind x 4 (Sawbridgeworth CM21)
Gifted
Unused, unopened Velux window blinds. These were left by the people we bought the house from 26 years ago as they never got round to fitting them (windows too high?), and we rediscovered them in the loft after a clear-out. I'm very happy to offer 1, 2, 3 or 4 to anyone who can guarantee to use them. I've tried flogging them on Ebay and have received no interest whatsoever. NB Please check carefully on the Velux website that this size blind will fit your window - there are several different sizes and these are manufactured to fit the exact size. There are several good videos on YouTube advising how to fit them. If you respond to this posting, please check your Spam/Junk folder regularly as replies often end up there. I will only deal with good communicators.

Yale espag window handle 40mm (Sawbridgeworth CM21)
Gifted
A replacement double glazing lockable window handle. Brand new - bought the wrong size in error. Standard width fixing holes (43mm?) and spindle length of 40mm (I thought this was the whole length, but it is just the bit that protrudes from the handle so it is far too long for my 15mm window!). Complete with fixing screws, one key, plus hole blanks. If you message me about this item please check your Spam/Junk folder often as replies end up there and I will only deal with prompt communicators.

Cassette cases & carry cases (Sawbridgeworth CM21)
Withdrawn
Lots of empty cassette cases, plus a few carry cases (two are like brief cases holding about 40 cassettes each). The cardboard box is not on offer as we need that for other things, so if you want this you will need to come with your own box. Please note. If you respond to this offer, please check your Spam/Junk folder regularly as replies often end up there, and I will only deal with people who communicate promptly.

Digital Telegraph subscription (Sawbridgeworth CM21)
Gifted
A free digital subscription to The Daily Telegraph. The full newspaper is available from 5am daily. (The person I'd agreed to give this to a month or so ago found out that they are given access on their uni course). Would be very helpful for any student journalist, or anyone studying politics or commerce (or even sport!). Please tell me how you would personally benefit from using it if you ask to take this item. I will choose the person who I think makes the best case. Please also check your Spam/Junk folder regularly if you do respond as messages often end up there and I will only deal with people who communicate promptly.

Motorola L6 Pink (Sawbridgeworth CM21)
Gifted
If you need a "brick" phone to keep your girls away from a smartphones for a few years, this is the fashion item for you! It comes with the charger, all the user manuals and the original box. The battery is likely to be knackered as this has been in the loft for a while, but you can still get them on Ebay for a few quid. The phone has some amazing functions for such relatively old tech! If you respond to this item, please check your Junk/Spam folder regularly as my reply may end up there and I will only deal with people who communicate promptly.

Speaker unit for mobiles (Sawbridgeworth CM21)
Expired
A "cube" for playing stereo sound from your mobile using the standard jack plug. It worked perfectly the last time we used it. Battery powered (4 x AAA) so no panicking when you can't find the particular charger for the kit! It has been on a windowsill so the sun has turned it a little off-white in places. (It is definitely NOT from a smoking household). If you respond to this item, please check your Junk/Spam folder regularly as my reply may end up there and I will only deal with people who communicate promptly.
