Free: H7 headlamp bulbs (Merchiston EH10) Gifted Three G7 headlamp bulbs that have never been used. No longer required as sold car that they fitted. Two from Halfords and still in packaging and one unknown.

Free: Horse chestnuts saplings (Merchiston EH10) Gifted Three horse chestnut saplings that have grown in garden. Ranging from 30 cm to one metre.

Free: Steam iron non-functional (Merchiston EH10) Gifted Phillips Perfect Care Elite steam iron. 5 years old and cosmetically looks good. Currently, the iron is not functional. The iron heats up but the steam function stopped working. If anyone has the skills to fix the steam function and save from going to dump then we’d be very pleased.

Free: Up lighter lamp and reading light (Merchiston EH10) Gifted Two identical 6 foot high free standing lamps with reading lights. Both broken. Reading lights work on both. Uplights stopped working and are both non-functional. I’ve tried to fix both but failed. One uplighter completely broken after my efforts to repair. If someone has the electrical skills then the other is potentially repairable if the electrical fault can be identified and repaired. Both lamps about 20 years old from Ikea. If any wants the one with uplight that is potentially repairable only or both for spares then you’re welcome to.

Free: Sherry cask (Merchiston EH10) Gifted Old wooden sherry cask with rusting metal bands. Wooden spout and cork bung in filling hole. No longer water tight. 18 ins long and 22 ins diameter. Needs someone to restore it.

Free: Elephant Ears plants (Merchiston EH10) Gifted I need to thin a patch of Elephant Ear bergenia plants. I’ll pull them out when there to be collected.

Request: Insulation material (Merchiston EH10) Received There is a gap behind a skirting board a few centimetres deep about 5 metres in length, that communicates directly with the sub-floor space. I need some soft insulation material like glass mineral wool to insert in the space before I seal it off with membrane. If anyone has any left over material from insulating a loft that might suitable, I would be most grateful.

Free: Kitten food (Merchiston EH10) Gifted Bought in error. 1.6 kg remains. IAMS chicken dried kitten food for age 1-12 months. About four months old but sealed whole time.

Free: Chestnut saplings (Merchiston EH10) Gifted Two horse chestnut saplings that self-seeded in my garden last year. Just coming into leaf. Both about 1 foot tall. Now in leaf.

Free: Slates (Merchiston EH10) Gifted About 15 slates that have come off roof over years. Not suitable for re-use on roof according to our roofer. Unsure what they might used for but in case someone wants for garden etc rather going to landfills.

Free: Garden hose connectors (Merchiston EH10) Gifted Garden hose connectors. Five female connectors and two male tap connectors. They were all working when I replaced them about 15 years ago with stop flow ones.

Free: Vacuum cleaner floor tool (Merchiston EH10) Expired Black floor tool for vacuum cleaner. Rear brush fell off so not effective for cleaning carpets but still fine for hard floors. Old and bashed but otherwise functional. 32 mm connector. No idea why anyone might want other than cleaning dirty workshop. In case someone wants it and so it doesn’t go to landfill, I’m offering it.

Free: Tailgate struts (Merchiston EH10) Expired Hyundai i10 tailgate struts. Two used struts that were replaced because they didn’t fully extend and kept banging head. 16 years old. However, still working if manual extended to full height. No idea why someone would want them but thought I’d try before taking to dump.

Free: Telephone (Merchiston EH10) Expired I salvaged the phone when the hospital upgraded its phones. Used it for five years but my landline has gone digital so no longer works.

Free: Roofing felt (Merchiston EH10) Gifted A piece Wickes green IKO Trade Roofing Felt Topsheet which is a heavyweight bituminous roofing felt which is ideal for use as the cap sheet to a multi-layer system on garden buildings or a single layer on shed roofs (non-habitable buildings) and comes with a 10 year life expectancy. Left over from refelting my tool shed. 2.5 m by 60 cm.

Free: Roofing felt adhesive (Merchiston EH10) Gifted Wickes roofing felt adhesive is a cold-applied bitumen adhesive for bonding and sealing roofing felts. About a half to two thirds of a 2.5 L tin. Opened about 3 months ago.
