Essential Oils & Castor Oil (Kettering NN16) Dear all, We have an elderly lady in the community who has been advised by her naturopath to use essential oils and castor oil for sundry chronic physical and mental health issues, which are not responding to conventional treatments by her doctor. She has used essential oils in the distant past and says they made her feel better. She would therefore be very grateful for ANY essential oils that anyone can gift (in particular Rosemary, Lavender, Cedarwood, Peppermint , Sandalwood and Sandalore - but not restricted to these by any means), and also castor oil. Kombucha and Kefir (Kettering NN16) Dear all, We have an elderly lady in the community who suffers from chronic stomach issues, and has been advised to consume kefir and kombucha daily, in order to replenish her disturbed gut microbiome. Plastic bags, plastic packaging sheets, plastic carrier bags (Kettering NN16) Has anyone got any of the following to gift, please? 1) Plastic bags or plastic sheets from newly delivered mattresses, sofas, and indeed any plastic wrappings or covers from items that you have newly bought 2) Plastic charity bags of the kind that collection agencies put through the door for doorstep collections, e.g. Air Ambulance, Clothes Aid, etc etc 3) Plastic shopping bags from Supermarkets, e.g. Iceland, Sainsbury's, Waitrose, etc 4) CLEAR plastic bags from newly purchased electricals and other items 5) Clean plastic wrappers from Bread bought at the supermarket - for packing smaller items 6) Clean soft plastic wrappers from Cauliflower, Bananas, Apples and other fruit bought at the supermarket Instead of sending all these plastic bags to landfill, where they will take millennia to decompose completely, all the while emitting methane and other harmful substances which our great-grand-children will be inhaling, please do consider saving these items for us and giving them to us periodically, so we can put them to very good use and save the planet at the same time! We are always in need of the above in order to pack donated items before sending them on to our partner charities. Over-the-counter Anti-histamines & Ointments for allergies (Kettering NN16) Dear all, We have an elderly client who has recently moved from her old home into a small flat. Unfortunately something in the new residence, possibly pollen from nearby trees, or dust from the road, has triggered a major allergic response and she now suffers from severe and intractable pruritus/itching from the crown of her head (scalp and all) to her feet, plus several patches of allergic dermatitis/eczema all over. Understandably she finds this very distressing, and it is preventing her from getting on with her life, or taking part in normal day to day activities. Sadly she has been unable to obtain a GP appointment for yonks, on the grounds that dermatological conditions are not an emergency. Meanwhile she has been taking over the counter anti-histamines like Cetrizine, Fexofenadine, Piriton, etc etc etc, in a bid to alleviate the itching. As she anticipates having to continue taking them until she manages to see her doctor and get some prescription medication, she has requested us to inquire if anyone has any unwanted or redundant over the counter antihistamines (anything that works for HAYFEVER RELIEF will relieve the itching too) or skin ointments for eczema that she could use, while waiting to get a Dermatology referral. Sky remotes, in working condition (Kettering) Dear all, We have 2 elderly clients in the community (in 2 different residences) in dire need of Sky remote control devices. Both can only afford Sky because their adult children are paying the subscription fees for them. Despite our clients repeatedly contacting Sky and asking them to send replacement remotes as the old remotes aren't working, Sky has failed to do so. Small mirrors (Kettering NN16) Does anyone have any small mirrors to gift, please? They are needed for the ladies in a Women's shelter we partner with. If anyone has any surplus mirrors to gift, I'd be very grateful. If possible, please wrap them well in either bubble wrap or layers of paper when gifting. Please note, however, that they must be small enough to fit into a cabin case and taken as hand baggage, as larger mirrors are at risk of breaking if we pack them into regular suitcases as checked in luggage. 1960s Iron (Kettering NN16) Expired My mum had a dry iron that my gran had given her back in the mid-1960s. It was her pride and joy, and she steadfastly refused to use the fancy steam irons that my siblings and I have bought her over the years. It was a very good iron, very lightweight and easy to use, and she loved it. Unfortunately some thieving scum broke in and stole it some years ago, probably for scrap, and she has never gotten over the loss. She was speaking of it wistfully and nostalgically the other day, and I was thinking it would be lovely to be able to gift her something similar if possible. CCTV Camera or Ring Doorbell (Kettering NN16) Expired Dear all, A little old lady, a local client of ours, is being harassed and pestered by unwanted callers, some of whom are apparently very aggressive and persistent. She is not in great health and finds the intrusions extremely distressing. As she also receives visitors (friends and relatives) from time to time, she is afraid NOT to open the door, in case she misses a genuine caller. A small CCTV camera or Ring doorbell would be perfect for her to see who was at the door, before opening it and subjecting herself to unwanted sales talk and similar. I'd be very grateful if someone can gift her a CCTV mini-cam or even an old Ring doorbell, or something of that sort, which we can arrange to fix outside her front door. The pole in the picture is an off-cut of the solitary curtain pole we managed to get her, and it would be great if she can have 2 more matching poles for her front room, which is very sunny and hot and in dire need of curtains. Upright Stainless Steel Freezer (Kettering NN16) Expired Belongs to a mate of mine who's emigrating shortly. The freezer is currently stored in a mate's garage, and has not been in use for the past few weeks. However, it was in use prior to that, and has been PAT tested before being placed in garage. Dimensions as below. Height 32 inches, Depth 25 inches, Width 24 inches. Collection only, from the North End of Kettering. It is heavy and will need two strong people to move it.
