Plants for the Garden (Leasgill LA7)
I have big chunks of three garden plants which if planted soon in the right place should flower this summer. The following plants are available: 1. This is derived from the common wild flower known as meadow sweet. It grows to 2m+ in height and is indeed magnificent, with its beautiful pink feathery flowers on tall arching branches. Warnings: this is a very strong grower and will invade and bully other plants. Needs to be in permanently damp soil, ideally near a pond where it does look superb in flower. 2. this is the common wild bistort, a tough no nonsense plant. Grows best in damp, even poorly drained ground, and looks great around water. Long flowering season. Grows to 2 feet (60cm) high and spreads cheerfully by means of sub surface rhizomes. Can be a bit invasive. 3. Astilbes are a great garden hardy perennial, easy to grow and tolerant of all sorts of neglect and maltreatment. They are quite shade tolerant, and probably prefer dappled shade rather than full sun. No herbaceous border should be without them. Easy to propagate by division from late autumn to late spring. Prefer a damp soil. Generally about 2 feet (60 cm) tall with attractive foliage and vivid flower spikes over a long period mid to late summer, even early autumn. Variety of colours from creamy white, through various shades of pink and into the red. I cannot promise particular colour.

Electric log-effect fire 2kW NOT WORKING (Leasgill LA7)
Expired
It looks fine from the outside but doesn’t work. I have checked the plug fuse and put a new battery in the remote control device. If someone has the knowledge and skill to open it up and fix it, it would be worth having, but I fear it’s destined for the tip.

Free:
Twin core electrical wire (Leasgill LA7)
Expired
Approximately 24 metres length. Please be aware that this is not for use with items needing earth connection but is ONLY suitable for use with double insulated equipment. I used this as an extension lead for hedge trimmer, but would also be ok for electric lawnmower. You would need to add a fused mains plug and a trailing socket. If unsure about safety issues check with an electrician.

Yellow flag/Wild Iris (Leasgill LA7)
Expired
This species was threatening to take over the whole of our pond. We're keeping about a fifth of it, and the rest will go in the green bin unless anyone here wants it. Warning - though it is a lovely thing to have it will overwhelm a small pond in short order. /

Zanussi double electric oven, hob and Franke sink (Leasgill LA7)
Gifted
We are having a new kitchen and these items need a new home. All about 20 years old, but good working order. May need a good clean! Will become available on Aug 7. The tradesmen will take them away (and dump them) after that, so anyone wanting these must collect promptly as I don't want to be left with them. I am happy to give these as a set or individually. More information on request. If anyone is genuinely interested we can arrange a visit when everything is still in place. I forgot to say that the worktops may be available also - depends if the workmen get them out without damage. Forgot to mention that the oven is NOT free standing, but fits into a tall kitchen unit.

Request:
Working slide projector (Leasgill LA7)
Received
We have a lot of old slides from back in the last century, but no working projector. It doesn't need to be fancy carousel with remote control. If you have one you no longer need mouldering away in the attic we'd love to give it a good home.

Request:
Zimmer. Toilet surround to aid sitting and rising. (Leasgill LA7)
Expired
My wife is recovering from hip surgery. I’ve already tried to acquire a 3 wheel “shopper” without success, but could also use a zimmer frame and one of those toilet surrounds with arms to aid standing and sitting. The accident happened in Somerset so the kit Bath hospital provided has to go back there when we leave to go back home in Leasgill, hopefully tomorrow.

Request:
Three wheeled shopping trolley for disabled person (Leasgill LA7)
Expired
My wife is recovering from a broken femur and needs one of those little “walkers” with handlebars and brakes that injured or disabled people can use when they need support for walking. At present she’s using a zimmer frame, but expects to graduate soon to something a bit faster and more like real walking. I can collect.

Garden plants (Leasgill LA7)
Gifted
Two herbaceous perennials surplus to requirements. Both are vigorous growers and great if you have a big space to fill. Click these links for pictures. / This is a 60 cm tall by 60 cm spread spring to early summer flowering plant. Gets a bit unruly after flowering but not hard to control. Very hardy. This is a very vigorous 100cm tall plant with an unlimited spread over time. Spreads by rhizomes and makes a big clump quite quickly. Summer flowering. Very hardy. Some authorities suggest it doesn't like being moved, but I moved it once and it is already showing shoots from the roots. If several interested I can divide.
